Again, they keep trying to cram ICE into this police-shaped hole, but it's not working because ICE is very clearly unable to behave like the regular police for more than a few minutes, and keeps trying to claim privileges the regular police don't have
They keep talking about "cooperating with immigration enforcement" as if convoys of troops randomly interrogating and detaining people across the city and attacking bystanders with chemical weapons is just a totally normal part of how law enforcement works that we're all used to.
Alex Pretti did not “tragically die. He was murdered.

Two years ago, Biden and Harris championed and almost every Senate Democrat voted for a bill to ramp up ICE detention capacity and militarize the border.

I'm glad that Senate Dems are voting NO on DHS funding, but they need to also not entrench violent carceral system when they win.

We need to get it broadly understood that Stephen Miller's ethnic cleansing will result in a permanent metastasized immigrant carceral state and paramilitary warfare on US streets that goes on *for years.*

The internal logic of his agenda dictates this of necessity.

In a new interview with WSJ, Trump is, again, blaming Pretti for carrying a gun, not federal agents for for firing theirs.

“I don’t like it when somebody goes into a protest and he’s got a very powerful, fully loaded gun…. That doesn’t play good.”

Unlike National Guard from other states federalized and sent to DC, these are Minnesotans, who give up one weekend a month and two weeks a year to generally help their fellow Minnesotans in case of weather emergencies.
Non-masked MN National Guard are out handing out hot chocolate, coffee and donuts to protesters. One simple act has de-escalated the situation and helped gain the trust of people. See the difference between professional soldiers and the pretend tough guys in CBP and ICE?

I’ve never heard of a “law enforcement” agency putting an officer who just killed someone back on the street under 24 hours. And that’s because all shootings are treated as homicides pending investigation. This is as clear a sign as you’ll get that DHS personnel enjoy practical immunity from murder.
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting
