LONDON FFS

..damn it, this thing was almost wiped out. IT WAS ALMOST WIPED OUT.

(growling) Now all this work is to do again. And it's going to take years. *And thousands of kids will die.* 😡
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Health officials are racing to contain a growing measles outbreak in London, which has struck down dozens of young children and affected 7 schools and a nursery.

UKHSA has warned an outbreak across London could see 40,000 - 160,000 cases:

Looking for new things to do this year. There's this from @carltonreid.com's boy* Josh that just caught my eye:

🤔 A Tyneside Dawn Patrol taking in the city centre and the Tyne Tunnel would be pretty awesome!

Politics London discussing driverless taxis casually referring to “jaywalking pedestrians”.

Jaywalking is not a thing in UK law.

Transport for London and Government had better not be asleep at the wheel on this.

Stop acting like a sociopath: Holding a phone when driving — even when stopped — is illegal, and it’s just not for fun
Comment & Analysis: Unless you’re actually a sociopath, most people don’t want to run over a child or cyclist or an old lady, yet if you walk past cars in traffic, you’ll like…

The main argument against rejoining the EU is that it would "embolden Farage".

Bullshit. It would expose Farage.

It would force him to oppose the majority of voters, remind them that his last "Great Crusader" left us poor and powerless, and force him to admit he wants us to remain that way.

I had measles as a kid. I was horribly ill. One of my school friends lost her hearing. It could have been far worse, as Roald Dahl's letter about the tragic death of his daughter, Olivia, testifies. It's a heartbreaking read - get you kids vaccinated. web.archive.org/web/20150311...

Just checking, it's now ok to flee your homeland, because you're afraid for your safety, and seek refuge in another Country?

Glad we've cleared that up. Let's hear no more about immigration and refugees then.

Or, and hear me out, we could copy the Dutch and have staffed cycle garages at stations.

Amsterdam, Utrecht and a much smaller one at Gouda.

They are usually free for the first 24 hours *and* house the national cycle hire scheme run by Dutch railways.

50km to Hexham into a gentle headwind, but on spiked winter tyres. Definitely needed them today, but they’re really hard work & the ride is so harsh! Currently refuelling at Greggs, and wondering about getting the train back to Newcastle…

Stand outside someones house and shout obscenities through their window at them and I guarantee they'd either get a punch in the face or the police would show up. Do it online and it's somehow fair game, free speech, and we just need to ignore it. Bizarre.

Honestly, if you cannot stop looking at your phone in traffic, you need to keep it out of reach.

People have been injured and killed because drivers were "just" quickly looking.

It doesn't matter if you're stopped, it's illegal as that distraction could mean that you're not aware of a child...
