Cities will micromanage an e-bike, but are fine with multi-ton cars being beta tested on our streets by remote workers overseas.

Make it make sense.

All the granite curling stones in the Winter Olympics are quarried on Ailsa Craig, a small volcanic island off Scotland's west coast. A chain of these geological relics stretches across the Central Belt as far as the North Sea. And they're the theme of a ride in m'new book Lost Lanes Scotland.

Personally I think Michael Caine was wasted in Muppet Christmas Carol, what we should have had was Muppet Italian Job, it even had a great song already written for Muppet Voices.

Encouraging more people to cycle for more of their everyday journeys isn't going to work when your cycling infra still places this kind of nonsense in the way.

Help me, traffic psych world, you're my only hope. There was a study (early 2000s?) of interventions to make junctions safer where cycle paths cross (in Finland?? Heikki Summala??). it found the only intervention that made a difference to safety was a hump that slowed drivers down. Ring any bells?

Make anyone with the ability to control a vehicle have to have a licence from the area they are controlling the vehicle.

A taxi licence would be appropriate as well.

If your first draft of an academic paper is free of profanity and rudeness, you're doing it wrong and the final version will be affected. This new trend of professors watching the process from start to finish in an futile effort to thwart AI is going to ruin everything.

The scientists are mostly happy, engineering are confident. But this decision is way above my pay grade, so although it’s my recommendation to go ahead, YOU need to decide.

We should be able to test at a higher frequency next week, again (reader, we have still not been able to test at a higher frequency)
