James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Dog mooching around garden, me looking out kitchen window.
Buzzard flies over him about 15ft off the ground giving the mewing cry they do.
Never seen the dog move so fast. He's sat on the sofa with his eyes wide and hackles up.
He weighs 25kg so was never in much danger of aerial abduction, tbh.

The Anderida special edition of the Terrible Worlds : Revolutions book, cover and interior art by Ian McQue, truly a thing of beauty.
I think this is now the most beautiful book I own. Yes, it’s Adrian’s text (as good as ever) and Anderida did amazing work here, from typography to binding, etc. but my lord, Ian McQue’s art goes f-ing hard.

One of the most powerful images of the outcome of conflict I think I've ever seen. The scale of loss laid out, each life that would no longer be lived. The ending of so much potential, so many dreams and aspirations - each marked by a white cross or star.
We will remember them.

John Cale has made a record with someone who wasn't even born when he made Songs For Drella, which for most artists would count as a late-career recording, but for him... long may he roll, is what I'm saying.

True story: My grandmother was orphaned by the 1918 flu pandemic. She was 5 or 6 and had an older brother. A family wanted to adopt them both but my gm was diagnosed with TB so they just took her brother. She remembered seeing him driven off in a big car (so a rich family). She never saw him again.
Glasgow fought tuberculosis long after rates fell elsewhere in Britain. In 1957, the city launched a month-long mass X-ray drive—backed by a full media blitz. This ad appeared on the side of a tram. This image is from the Wellcome Collection, London.

Didn't bring my camera on lunchtime walk because it's been peeing down all morning. So of course it cleared up and I got as close to a kingfisher as I ever have. Mobile pic.

Southern Water has taken responsibility for the catastrophic spill of plastic biobeads that polluted the Sussex coastline.
Local charities reported a huge spill of millions of biobeads over the weekend, washing up on beaches including Camber Sands. Andy Dinsdale, the founder of the plastic pollution campaign group Strandliners, said it was the worst pollution event he had seen. Continue reading...

I'd imagine pretty much any modern vehicle that is capable of receiving over-the-air software updates can be bricked by its manufacturer and that governments can force that to happen if they choose to.
And again... should we worry that any product coming from China could become a national security threat? What about US products? Or from anywhere else? There is a big difference between sensible risk management and outright paranoia. www.ft.com/content/07ec...
