The whole sky just exploded in green here in Reykjavík. It was so bright, I didn't even need my flashlight to walk out to my neighborhood beach. It's rare when we get these whole sky engulfing shows.

This season has been something else.

"Results show that for every reported professional benefit that scientists once gained from Twitter, scientists can now gain that benefit more effectively on Bluesky than on Twitter."

well, we might not be the best at skiing, or ice hockey, or snowboarding, or ice dancing, or, more troublingly, curling, but by god, when it comes to finding a man prepared to strap himself to a tea tray and hurtle down an icy chute at 90 miles an hour, Britain leads the way

You may laugh, but the Macbeths are a much better role model for a marriage than Romeo and Juliet. They discuss their problems (killing the king of Scotland), share their hobbies (killing the king of Scotland), and resolve their conflicts (by killing the king of Scotland).

Immigration is a high profile issue & the focus of much of the interview. This was a big claim about the central headline number. I do not think it is a good thing that the BBC is relying on external post-publication challenge many hours after publication on this kind of major false point

Emigration rose 43k year on year.

It is simply a lie that the major driver of the dramatic fall in net migration is a big rise in emigration, not a big fall in immigration.

Nigel Farage claims "Look at net migration numbers. Oh, it isn't good that net migration is coming down".

"Do you know why? Its because there is an exodus: those of a situation + a financial position to be fortunate to have a choice"

A v misleading exaggeration/narrative of falling net migration

Farage is clearly misleading the public.

The main reason that net migration fell by 445,000 (year to June 2025 it was 205k, having been 649k a year before) is that immigration fell by 401,000.

The BBC should fact-check/verify and report that this was untrue.
