Just emailed the minister, in addition to emailing my own MP yesterday. Pebbles, ripples, etc.
In Canada, call or email Evan Solomon and demand he do his job as “Minister of AI and Digital innovation” to stop the CSAM and non-consensual porn. X should be banned in this country.

In 2024, I rose in Senate QP to ask why the Govt of Canada was still using X for official communications. Today, they are still there. What exactly will it take to break the spell?

One of the lessons I learned from Rwanda as a kid is that all people need is to hear something over and over (via the radio then, the internet now), and you can make people believe and do anything. Anything.
this is absolutely a violent political threat, but also, I hope people remember/pay attention to the normalization of this kind of talk--allowing it to slide unremarked leads to dangerous places in the US, India, etc.
Even if the complaints about Bryan Passiflume go nowhere, they are worth making.

rare to see an american politician speak in these terms and it rocks
“When I speak about making our city more affordable, my vision is not limited to the homes that we live in or the child care that we’re making universal — it’s also a vision where we make it possible for working people to afford lives of joy, of art, of rest, of expression.”

Mid-forties and I finally got my first credit card fraud? A charge to my old card that should've already been frozen, according to my bank. Good shit!

(a large charge posted from a vacation rental company that isn't VRBO, shall we say)

Seeing more and more about passkeys and after a quick search, oh, okay, they're just per-site private-public key pairs, okay.

It's a small thing, a nothing, but I wrote my MP last night, asking her to reconsider the use of Twitter/X given this, and how the platform doesn't align with Canadian values.

I don't expect a reply, but it's something.
I reached out to more than three dozen X advertisers, xAI investors, politicians, and government agencies about the growing library of sexualized deepfakes generated with Grok—now including Renee Good. I only heard back from four, with three declining to comment.

Why isn't there a bigger Grok boycott?
Advertisers, politicians, and investors are still all-in on X, despite a sexual abuse crisis.

Folks, @womensaidireland.bsky.social have closed their X account on principle. Follow them here, give them some real engagement to acknowledge both the rightness of that decision, but also of letting go of high follower numbers (even if the algorithm meant that no longer signified actual reach).
