Police lie. All the time. In paperwork. To prosecutors. To the media. On the stand while testifying under oath. And even when in the very rare case their lies are exposed, they get to keep lying with few if any consequences. This pattern isn’t just limited to ICE.

A black Mercedes crossover has been moving around our quiet St. Paul neighborhood all day. The driver (a white dude with a beard) parks and idles for a while before moving on and repeating the pattern. Many people have noticed because this is weird behavior for the neighborhood. 🧵 1/3

Concentration camps:
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

“DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law” is excellent framing
DHS is shutting down because it refuses to obey the law. They are tear-gassing schools, killing American citizens, and disappearing legal immigrants. Democrats shouldn’t fund an out of control ICE.

The concept of “lying under oath” is up for grabs right now. All the Trump SCOTUS judges did it about Roe. Kennedy did it to get his post. If one of these fuckers isn’t prosecuted it will be crystal clear that there are zero repercussions for doing so, and everyone will lie forever.

I need folks to understand this. The idea that local police forces will intervene at scale against ICE is a utopian fantasy totally disconnected from how policing has always worked
Police departments across the US are quietly leveraging school district security cameras to assist Donald Trump’s mass immigration enforcement campaign, an investigation by @the74.bsky.social reveals.

DHS is shutting down. Why? Because Democrats took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution and ICE is lawless and out of control. We cannot fund an agency that is murdering our citizens, tear gassing school zones, and disappearing legal immigrants.

[through gritted teeth] the popular front against ICE includes NIMBYs
new from me: it's interesting that one of the biggest roadblocks we're seeing to ICE buying up warehouses to convert into modern day concentration camps for detained immigrants is conservative NIMBYs (non-derogatory, for once) saying "not here, thanks"
Opinion | ICE’s warehouse detention centers run up against NIMBYism
A surprising number of Republican communities are coming out against the idea of ICE deportation facilities in their backyards.
