the mcbride letter got nearly all dems on the record against misgendering trans people and putting us forcibly into camps and will also force johnson to come out as ok with discriminating against our population. sunlight
There's a lot I don't understand about this.

On the one hand, it feels very good to get Dems to publicly denounce anti-trans hatred after so much of the party had been cowed into silence about trans rights.

On the other, this letter has no practical effect. GOP will continue to cruelly misgender.

your movement has to be like 8 levels removed from reality to think that some of the starving kids in gaza also having serious medical conditions makes Israel look better. it's completely insane. they just think because it's an additional fact it's somehow exonerating.
Jewish Federations applauds Olivia Reingold, a staff writer at Bari Weiss's Free Press, as she victory laps her (ghoulish and erroneous) reporting that some of the children Israel was starving to death and denying medical aid to in Gaza had pre-existing conditions.

Damn I guess the CEO of a certain former employer of mine stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from the U.K. government wasn't the most compelling argument that they could do it huh

I remember those days and when the web came around it was my naive belief that the fast information system would be used to shame evildoers into inaction. Instead it has only seemed to embolden them into publicizing their evil and grooming communities into cheering for more.
It's my understanding that before the internet, many people could perhaps go days or even weeks without being apprised of what the worst men in the world were doing — let alone thinking — just living their lives concerned mostly with local events.

I envy that prelapsarian condition.

The idea that individuals will have any leverage whatsoever to "negotiate" with health care companies is laughably stupid and I can't wait to meet someone who actually believes this so I can tell them so.
November 12, 2025 at 1:17 AM
It's fine. They'll just not buy healthcare and then die. Then you won't hear them complaining. Survivorship bias!
Trump: I will personally send you a check for $2000!

As an entrepreneur, this is one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard in my fucking life.
I don’t want to post a ton of identical looking screenshots and this isn’t worth it’s own thread but

Gosh yay everyone’s an entrepreneur of their own health care lucky us

It’s honestly never been a better time to be the last living member of my family.
My mom gave the eulogy at my grandma's burial today and used ChatGPT to write it. I can't stop thinking about it. Thinking with my human brain that I use for processing feelings. It made me so sad and mad and disgusted.

Torba is a piece of shit, but this idea that men talk like racist assholes by default and it’s somehow anti-masculine to criticize it is fucking untrue and men should push back against it. No, “male communication” is not racist and sexist and hateful when the conversation is being had by good men.
No, this is how Nazis talk in their own spaces. I don’t know abut this dude, but I never talked about gassing people and raping women when I was hanging out with my pals.
