this is just (barely) repressed trauma after the last apartment’s CO detector screamed false alarms every one out of three nights, while the landlord just kept saying “what CO detector?”

No lies detected. Bennet's weaving together of fantasy, mystery, and *great* characters are pure delight. Just. Go. Read. It.

This is a really informative thread, providing helpful context around this recent SCOTUS decision.
Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson called yesterday's decision about nationwide injunctions "an existential threat to the rule of law."

She's mistaken.

After our own travels in Japan, can confirm: we live like animals here
After the shortages of early 2020, we immunized ourselves against toilet paper shortages by installing bidet seats on every toilet in the house. And let me tell you, once you get used to a heated Toto Washlet, using a toilet without one feels primitive, like you're in some rough-hewn medieval privy.

And what even is going on with *all music streaming sites* being on this monitoring list?
New: we've obtained a leaked list of the more than 200 sites, services, apps an ICE surveillance contractor monitors. Bluesky, OnlyFans, many more. Used to track targets. Highly relevant with the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil by ICE. We've published the full list here: www.404media.co/the-200-site...

Same for engineering, especially on large complex projects. You aren’t Tony Stark in your robot garage, you are on a team, as leader or follower. Your success or failure will be about the people, especially as a leader. They did it, you just gave them the opportunity.
