CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

@ossoff.bsky.social is a NO on supporting DHS this week in an email to people who wrote in yesterday
@warnock.senate.gov as well but @ossoff.senate.gov has been begging our money and votes for a year. He is up in 2026.
The U.S. Senate has to vote on this horseshit in the coming week. I will be calling @ossoff.senate.gov to say if he supports DHS in any way whatsoever, he will not win the Senate this Fall.

If Trump were working for the Kremlin, what would he be doing differently?

I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength
you don't become a martyr because you were a saint, you become a saint because you were martyred
I agree that we can’t make Alex Pretti a Benedictine monk because that’s a trap, but we can talk about the good things we did because people will see and hear them and think “I do those things too”

Remember almost 10 yrs ago, in 2016 when Trump won his 1st election?

Days later, many of us shared @sarahkendzior.bsky.social's newest column "We're headed into dark times. This is how to be your own light in the Age of Trump."

Did you do what she suggested? Read it now, do it again, or start.

What does fighting look like? Different for everyone, without a doubt. But whatever form it takes, it's more than just conviction or advocacy or solidarity. (1/n)
bsky.app/profile/harm... I've been stewing on this question all week, and I finally have my answer: you've gotta figure out how you're gonna fight for what you love and what brings you joy. You've gotta be willing to put them on pause & fight to preserve the systems that make those things possible.
Getting asked about how academics can continue to do science & inspire trainees even in the midst of a continued (escalated) assault on science, reason, truth, & human rights. I don’t have great answers.

I would love to hear from mentors about advice they’re giving to trainees/ colleagues.
