When you're that rich you're only laying people off and gutting an institution because you want to. Must be enraging to lose your job due to "budget cuts" when the boss is a squillionaire
According to recent estimates, Jeff Bezos makes about $8m an HOUR

In ONE SLEEP he probably makes enough to cover the Washington Post's annual losses

every music biopic is more than likely going to be very bad and this one shows no signs of breaking that trend, with the added layer of (apparently) eliding MJ's child sex abuse crimes, which not only happened, but were the primary component of his star image for years if not decades

My fav new album this week is Tempa Allstars Vol. 9, the first compilation in a decade from the legendary London label, which was revived in 2025 after a long hiatus. Still dubwise, and with a keen ear for innovative club music. Inc. new music by Hodge, Beatrice M. tempa.bandcamp.com/album/tempa-...

It is quite funny that younger people get told by my generation that the Nineties was all Britpop (or perhaps Grunge in the US), but if you actually look at the British charts, it's mostly dance records made in Italy and the Netherlands.

And ofc the most significant "protest music" of the MPLS crisis is the callithumpian racket being kicked up by citizens themselves in the streets—alerting neighbors to the presence of Trump's thugs w/whistles & raising hell outside ICE agents' hotels w/drums, sticks, pots, pans, sirens, chants, etc.
