I don't really care about James Bond, but seeing this discourse is interesting as I'd always imagined Bond/007 as a codename/mantle taken up by many agents over the years.
Weird to me that the consensus is that it's just a guy.

tried a "kitkat classic"

tl;dr "trashy people eat this food, which makes this food trashy, and if I then eat that food, I will become trashy myself" is a social opinion (a shitty one), not a scientific opinion, but people will never stop trying to use nutritional terminology to legitimize their shitty social opinions

There's this strain of well-meaning thought I see sometimes on social media like "You shouldn't shame people for [x]! Some people are poor!"

But like...you actually shouldn't shame people at all?

My favorite superhero is Zephyr/Faith Herbert (Valiant Comics)! She has a cool power, joyful energy, and is a fat icon.

Private schools are bad for students.
If your parents are well off enough to send you to one, but not connected enough to help you through university you're fucked because your school teachers softballed you due to your parents being the employer but profs won't give a shit.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

And eventually you get a sense of how there are layers of safety and there are degrees of coming out.
Coming out to someone at work: "I'm queer."
Coming out to someone in queer spaces: "I'm [broad identity label.]"
Coming out to someone with the same ID label(s) as you: "I'm [micro-identity label.]"
People believe that when you're LGBTIQ+ you come out once, but the reality is that every time you meet a new person, you have to study them to decide if it's a safe space to say it or not

Currently picking up Zomromcom again (had wanted to read it in spooky season but life) and again am reminded that I like @oliviawrites.bsky.social's books because they let me have my wish fulfillment of being kinda messy, eating weird stuff and annoying someone hot until they fall in love with me.

This illustrates my problem with smartphones.
When you buy a car, the company provides you with keys or a key fob.
Purchasing a smartphone is a whole other transaction.
It isn't "convenient." it is inserting a separate step in a fairly simple transaction to add value for a middleman.
Ford wants you to stash it in your belt buckle, but there’s absolutely no need to be lugging around a bulky fob. Trouble is, phone-as-a-key tech could be superseded before it even gets going. www.wired.com/story/why-ar...

Some male leaders love the theatre of "delivering negative feedback," whereas I've never met a woman leader who does. A certain type of man loves thinking that "being direct" is a license to be cruel so he can be his fantasy of "the hard man", when direct is just...direct. Direct can be good too.
I'm not linking to that NYT piece today, but of all the horrible parts of it, this was the worst. This was an explanation of "female vices" in the workplace and LET ME JUST TELL YOU...

I definitely mean both the art-buying thing and the eating thing, but I also mean it when I say stuff like "let's hang out" so I definitely accept I'm not typical. 🤷‍♀️
Remember, artists: when people say, “I’d buy a print of this,” they don’t mean it. That sentence itself is just a weird compliment that rarely converts to an actual print sale. It’s like if someone ate a very good hot dog and then said, “I could eat 10,000 of these right now.”

Definitely an all-time great comic panel
I had to sign a piece of paper to ensure I wouldn't do any AI work for Mark Trail.

Guys, have you met me? I make this strip with natural, human stupidity.

I'm not offended easily.

Birth rate talk pisses me off.

Humanity is in NO danger of extinction because of the birth rate. Capitalism, climate change, nuclear proliferation, and humans' addiction to killing each other? THAT should be the concern.

I just think it's interesting that there's a certain type of guy that implicitly trusts AI output but will question a woman to death for saying she likes coffee over tea.

Everyone deserves the amount of tasty, nutritious food that they want for their body. Yes, that includes treats. No, their size has nothing to do with it. It's a basic bodily autonomy issue. No one should be too poor to eat the food they want.

You'll never guess who wrote this article about a studio that's niche even among shoot 'em up developers, and also declared it time for the Border Down revival. Okay fine it was me
G.rev, the small Japanese studio known for some of the most interesting shmups of the '00s, has had an unlikely revival in 2025. www.endlessmode.com/video-games/...

Fandom as we know it exists today because of female Star Trek fans. It’s just so frustrating to have women’s roles in sci-fi history denied, because it extends well beyond fandom and creates the perception that women haven’t contributed as much to society at large as men, which is violent erasure
