AOC: New York City has chosen the ambitious pursuit of universal childcare, affordable rents and housing and clean and dignified public transit for all. We have chosen that over the distractions of bigotry and the barbarism of extreme income inequality

Please read repeatedly-Yarvin needs to become a name we all know:
This is anti semitism and right wing extremism influencing the highest levels of govt
Curtis Yarvin, JD Vance’s friend & ideological influence, ended 2025 by claiming “only Hitler spoke the truth” about “too many subjects” & “Hitler was a genius.”

Extremism isn’t fringe on the right. Once marginal online extremists like Yarvin are influential at the highest levels of government.

🙏🙏for all those devastated by last nights fire in Switzerland
Last night’s fire in Crans-Montana, Switzerland is a devastating tragedy.

My thoughts are with those who lost their lives or were injured, their loved ones, first responders, and the entire community as they support one another through this unimaginable loss.

DEMS WIN BIG IN IOWA: Democrat Renee Hardman wins IA State Senate SD-16 with 71.5%, a 27-point Dem overperformance from 2024. Harris won the district by 16. Hardman's victory blocks a GOP supermajority and makes history as the first Black woman elected to the Iowa Senate.

Congratulations to Kamar Samuels and wishing him only the best in leading the most important public school system in America
Thrilled by choice of Kamar Samuels for Schools Chancellor. Got to know him when he was Supt for D13 in BK (before D3 in Manh). An elem-school teacher & middle-school principal in the BX before that.

Smart, principled, effective.
Knows & loves what schools can do.

It would be good to get this Industrial Revolution right. I like the idea of a training fund. It should be part of a college-government-employer partnership, the way much of the research is; or the GI Bill. Let’s support people as the economy changes.

The WSJ is spot on when it comes to the modern voc schools-they are called Career & Tech Ed now. I've been advocating for CTE programs for years. Students are engaged and excited and learn the skills they need to succeed. I'm glad to see others recognize the value of CTE

Our broken child care system can learn a lot from New Mexico - the state that is leading the way in guaranteeing free child care for all.

There is no better rate of return than investing in our children.

The rest of the country should follow New Mexico’s lead.
