For reasons completely unrelated to any opinions about regulatory policy, a Day 1 executive order here in the US should be ending every government agency account on X. Just delete them all, plain as that. For the same reason the US government need not have accounts on Stormfront or 4chan.
Pretty crazy that nearly all of the EU Commission is still on X even as Elon Musk is literally talking about destroying the EU.

One funny thing about this is the United States already has it: compared to any peer democracy, a massive proliferation of hyper-local governments including an absurd number of micro-municipalities in major metros, and a ludicrously large number of local elected offices. It mostly sucks.

this is great - note that there's still police, but they're now part of a larger, county-wide department. the extreme localism of US policing is a *huge* part of its corruption, especially when you get to stuff like sheriff's departments.
Camden had zero homicides this summer. City and county leaders credit the 2013 disbandment of its police department.
Violent crime is at a 50-year low.
