Science knows it doesn't know everything; otherwise, it'd stop…

But just because science doesn't know everything doesn't mean you can fill in the gaps with whatever fairy tale most appeals to you.

I had to ask what the fuck it was. There's one on the cover of @jonathanstea.bsky.social 's book so I asked him.

In hindsight I should have asked a follow-up question:
"So I presume it is used in the butt?" ☺️

What did the scientist say after discovering the medicinal content of homeopathic remedies?

0mg.

It’s relieving to know that if I ever forget my homeopathic remedies at home, then I can just proceed immediately to the nearest water fountain.

Expert here…viruses exist
If you're getting your health information from people who don’t believe that viruses exist, then consider perhaps not doing that...

I was a young child when I first saw another young girl using a wheelchair.
The grownups told me she had poliomyelitis She was the nicest person you could meet. She passed before becoming an adult.
People selling "not to believe in viruses" are despicable.

We are not entitled to our opinions; we are entitled to our informed opinions.

Without research, without background, without understanding, it’s nothing. It’s just bibble-babble.

“Functional medicine” was invented in the 1990s by Jeffrey Bland to sell dietary supplements and shot to fame by its poster boy, Mark Hyman.

It is a marketing term designed to confuse patients, promote pseudoscience, and sow distrust in mainstream medicine.

It is a scam.

“It must work because it worked for me.”

Illusions of causality are very powerful personal, anecdotal experiences that can trick many into believing a false reality.

They can also drive the promotion of pseudoscientific health practices.
