We now have concentration camps in the US. Fascism is here and in control.
Her husband told her that detainees at Broadview had to get up at 5am to get in line for one bathroom. He often peed himself. One time he had to wait until 2pm to use the bathroom. You could only use the bathroom once a day. He said the agents would beat you if you used the bathroom on yourself.

MAHA Action, the 501(c)(4) dark money group founded to support (and sell) Robert Kennedy Jr.’s anti-science agenda at HHS, is attacking the March for Science and Health.

In its “report,” it calls @accountabilityji.bsky.social “a pro-censorship group.”

And I think that’s objectively hilarious.

The brain drain that this administration’s policies are resulting in will hobble us as a nation for generation. Say goodbye to our leadership in science. Before you know it, China and the EU will lap us.

Guyz, even the *historians* are leaving or contemplating / likely to go. Including, at least 3 historians that I know of in my subfield. 😢

Rather than trying to read entrails of some vaccine move by RFK Jr, just ask:
a) Does it encourage vaccination? OR
b) Is it one more step towards vaccination elimination?
(Ex: MMR=> solo M, M, R.)
Meanwhile, follow @gorskon.bsky.social & @joho.bsky.social,
who've dissected RFK Jr actions for years.
I strongly recommend fine documentary “A Shot in the Arm” on vaccine hesitancy & its (often well-paid) promoters, incl RFK, Jr.

Watch whole thing, but especially:
34:32-onward RFK, Jr
43:45-50:27 Samoa deaths: he denies/evades involvement, video records contradict.

I’m almost the same age, and my 40 year old self would never have guessed the same.
My 14-year-old self would never have guessed that, in 50 years' time, all the world's music would be available at the click of a button, you'd navigate the globe by carrying a tiny computer around in your pocket, and the US President would post a video of himself shitting over American citizens.

During Covid, when @gorskon.bsky.social & I coauthored a piece for @bmj.com on the links between right-wing climate denialist billionaires, anti-vaxxers, & the Great Barrington Declaration, some physicians felt it was "uncollegial" to be critical of the GBD

Now the GBD are Trump & RFK Jr's lackeys😔
Not being a physician, what I see is a toxic push for collegiality among medical professionals that has people not calling out bad actors, or as here, going out of the way to praise them, hoping they’ll reform and fly straight, when what they needed was to be called out and disempowered.

ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"
