My friends call me Kate (pronouns: She/Her), and I'm a lifelong Trekkie and Star Wars fan. I enjoy movies, TV, and comic books, and I also write fanfiction. I'd be posting more fandom stuff if the world wasn't going to heck.

For the first time, #StarTrekTOS' "The Apple" features complete peeled apples, dyed with food colouring in red, green and blue (💙 finally!) in the Vaalian hut. There's also melon slices dyed in the same colours. This is what colourful food cubes are made of, it seems, at last on Gamma Trianguli VI!

In #StarTrekTOS "The Apple", both Kirk and Chekov are seen taking a bite out off a peeled apple (how fitting!), dyed with food colouring (Kirk eats a red one, Chekov a green one) and in both cases, you can see that the interior of the fruit is whitish yellow, like in a regular Earth apple.

Three times on #StarTrek, Kirk calmly and confidently eats an apple while people around him are starting to lose their nerves: First in #StarTrekTOS' eponymous "The Apple"⬅️, second in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan"⬆️ and third in "Star Trek '09"➡️. 🍎🍏🍎

Antisemitism is a lot like Qanon child abuse conspiracies in that there’s this real and bad phenomenon and, parallel to that, what can only be described as a large scale mass psychosis about a mostly fictional version of the same phenomenon

It is interesting to me how the media seems far less interested in Trump's Murder Memo than you'd expect. Only a few reporters seem to be even trying to get a hold of it, and very few commentators are talking about it. Contrast that with Bush's torture memo, which was a national obsession. Weird.
Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/

I’m familiar, by the way, with the argument that we just aren’t appreciating the NYT’s subtlety here; that it’s actually a searing indictment of this group of elites, just in a “show me, don’t tell me” kind of way. That take relies on ignoring that it’s in the New York Times.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is not suddenly “reasonable,” “moderate” or “brave.”

She’s just a fast rat fleeing a sinking ship, fighting for her political life while seeking a free pass for horrific past behavior and continued racist, antisemitic, anti-Muslim, antigay and anti-immigrant beliefs.

Say no.
A reminder not to celebrate Marjorie Taylor Greene even if she’s damaging Trump. Let them fight, and let them both burn. Save your praise for people who deserve it.

I still remember how mainstream news didn’t report on it until the 4th or 5th day.

Pretty sure the memory-holing began then and there.

But for many of us, it’s when we really started to be radicalized against wealth accumulation.
It's still wild to me how much we've memory holed Occupy Wallstreet.

"Duran Duran" to "Rio"
Good evening Bluesky. What do you think is the sharpest rise in quality between a first album and a second album?
