People of London! PLEASE SHARE. I lost my necklace last night (10th Nov), and I'm hoping someone has found it. I caught the Northern Line from High Barnet to Leicester Square, then walked to the Prince Charles Cinema, then the same back again. I only noticed it was gone when I got home.

This a big deal: "China’s carbon dioxide emissions have been flat or falling for 18 months"

China's economy has grown by ~5% in the last year, so this comprehensively debunks the idea (again) that emissions are tied to growth. So yes, faster progress needed, but this is how you turn the corner.

Make the McGuffin in the new Bond film notionally something to do with quantum computing. Have Q explain the many-worlds hypothesis. "So there might be a universe where, I don't know, you were born in 1921, or died in 2021. Anyway, that's not the point..."

Only right wing people are real. And that has always been true. Even the union members and activists were right wing, because they were in the olden days. In black and white and flat caps. The wokes don’t want you to know that. Of course. It makes sense now.

Yes, "pregnant people" is inclusive language that describes pregnant cis women AS WELL AS trans men and nonbinary people, a lot of whom can get pregnant. But it also describes, like, 12-year-old girls who get pregnant. Do centrist pig-dogs think THEY are "women" too? Coz...bit of a red flag, that.

Oxfordshire County Council has clarified that the Ghostbusters hearse would not be exempt from the city’s Congestion Charge. A spokesperson told us “It’s not as simple as buying a hearse. In order to qualify for a permit, you must also be a funeral care business.”

Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

The big problem with the BBC isn't so much a bias against left or right, but a bias against understanding: chrisdillow.substack.com/p/being-a-ne... There's little chance that a change of DG will remedy this.

Retailers push Christmas crap in autumn BECAUSE it's the wrong time. Capitalism is always fighting to disrupt natural rhythms and direct our attention away from its natural paths.

If you let them, they will rush you forwards at every step until you're cold in your grave. So don't fucking let them.

Yeah, so just to clarify: if you're buying Christmas stuff now you are sending an economic signal to retailers that this nonsense is profitable enough to make it worth annoying and panicking people. You are not just part of the problem, you ARE the problem. Resist!
