Democrats would gain SO MANY votes if they gave up on gun control!
Two reasons:
1) None of their policy ideas would actually cut down on gun deaths, and
2) Democrats do not even know basic terminology about guns, so they sound idiotic to gun owners everywhere.

The thing that working class R voters have actually told me they dislike most about Ds is gun control. I can see an argument for moderating on guns for electoral expedience (though curiously it's not on Yglesias's list), but Ds are absolutely, 100% correct about the real-world impact of gun control.
I think the American right is in fact correct about several things and it would be wise to concede that.

Food banks - while very important - are also an inefficient way to distribute food. They usually only have set hours, and their recipients often wait long hours to get food.

Quick reminder that tear gas is an abortifacient.
We need to push for a federal ban on the use of tear gas on civilians and in civilian areas. It's unacceptable.
Just think about this, they dropped so much tear gas near the ICE center that a school had to close because it had become toxified by the residue and was unsafe for the kids.
