Miriam Yarimi’s vehicle had accumulated more than 90 tickets, including 18 school-zone speeding tickets in 2024 alone.

The Stop Super Speeders bill will save lives. Albany needs to pass it at the start of the year to prevent terrible crashes like this one from happening again.

Turns out that the $16MM payoff ABC made to Trump bought them only a few months' reprieve. Weird how that happens.
Trump in response to an Epstein question: "ABC, your company, your crappy company is one of the perpetrators. I think the license should be taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and so wrong. And we have a great commissioner, a chairman, who should take a look at that."

it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

Kind of a big deal that @hellgatenyc.com can confirm that NYC First Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro used his position to cancel Kehlani's SummerStage concert in order to punish the artist for their political speech on Palestine:

Why Mamdani should sweat the small stuff
Mamdani got elected by running on big ideas. But there are small, more achievable things he can do to make the city work better.

the most frustrating thing about the opposition to One Person Train Operation (OPTO) is that there’s a way to implement it that requires literally zero layoffs! just a combo of voluntary attrition and retraining conductors to be operators with increased service!
I think a reasonable compromise is nothing gets banned, OPTO is allowed on all half length trains, fully CBTC lines with cameras on curved platforms, and off peak trains with cameras on curved platforms. As CBTC is fully rolled out and camera coverage increases, everyone gradually shifts to OPTO.

i think the media should report on the extremist ties of the VP
“The infighting [over welcoming open Nazis into the GOP tent] is stupid,” writes Vice President Vance, which makes sense only if he thinks any Republicans objecting to said Nazi-welcoming should shut up.
doing a Straussian reading of this post, especially point 3, and it's fairly obvious that Vance is aligned with the Tucker Carlson-wing of the GOP and thinks further right groups should be part of the tent, but won't outright break with Trump's I/P policy while he's still VP
