as a thought exercise for everyone reading ross douthat's latest missive in the NYT, i want you to think about sending an email to your entire company with the subject line "Did Women Ruin the Workplace?", then think about the over/under on the number of minutes/hours you would still be employed

worth noting that while Trump is clearly history’s greatest con man, he is at best a D- entrepreneur
Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

worth noting that he fired a lot of minorities, wonder what it is that he wants to call them
Trump: "We fired thousands of people who didn't take care of our great veterans. They were sadists, they were sick people, they were thieves, they were everything you want to name. When Biden came in he hired them back."

feel free to ask your area nurse or just @badmedicaltakes.bsky.social if men die without complaining
Trump: "If we die, we must die and we as men we die without complaining."

as a Charlotte traveler, I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe
rocking chairs gone wild off the shoulder of the United lounge
I watched Bojangles biscuits glitter in the dark near the C gates
All these moments will be lost unless the National Guard is our force multiplier
like tears in rain
Rep. Pat Harrigan: "I have asked Josh Stein, our governor, to consider working with President Trump to allow the National Guard to come into Charlotte ... use the National Guard as a force multiplier and they can a lot of load off the Charlotte PD."

Adam Corolla is the textbook example of why divorce protections are important for nonworking spouses - he used to brag routinely on his show about how his wife didn't have to work because he earned so much. It was a point of pride for him that she quit her job when they got married.
They used to wiretap your phones to collect this kind of information from you but now you pay for a Bluecheck and post it yourself

i too am extremely mad at the eight squishes and schumer's repeated, utter failures of leadership, but stopping trumpism is priority #1 for the next 20 years
anyway if dems think I'm gonna forget this shit in 5 months, they're wrong. if they think I'm gonna forget it in 5 years, they're wrong. they have fully convinced me that purging the party of these inept losers in the senate is more important than retaking the senate in the next election cycle

I get it. I have my own feelings.

Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

It all sucks! But the people who are your enemies are in the WH, not the people who are just trying to fucking survive. There's nothing wrong with a civil servant being desperate to get back to work and get their backpay. Check your fucking fire.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Kaine should have told Warner to eat shit. Warner's been a disappointment for some time now, and he's clearly gotten comfy in the job. If he doesn't hang it up, Louise Lucas is going to make him regret it.
11. Jeanne Shaheen. Retiring. Please replace her with someone who doesn't suck, NH.

12. Tina Smith. I like her. Leave her alone.

13. Mark Warner. Kaine almost certainly took this vote instead of Warner, and VA is angry and should be very blue next fall. Easy primary!

At the very least, it gives the impression that Schumer simply can't control his caucus, which means I do not want him to be a majority leader, especially in the next Democratic trifecta.

Reminder about Axios.
Axios’ editorial comms director who is relentlessly pushing the Axios/Tapper book about Biden was a literal Republican operative who did comms for Ron Johnson, Kevin Cramer, the RNC, the ND Republican Party, and worked on Rand Paul’s 2016 campaign.

Yep - regular reminder that Axios more or less serves as a GOP PR firm, and that any of their stories operate as PR, not news from reliable sources.
Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.
