The anthology I'm in is up for pre-order 🥰

A story featuring correct spelling of the word "torsos," without an extra E.

Because who would do that? A person who while trying to turn off all AI functions, turned off spellcheck too? Leading to a mortifying editors note?

Not me. You can't prove it.
Trust me, you've never encountered monsters like these... ENCOUNTERS with cryptids is out Friday 13th March '26.

Locus Awards voting is OPEN!

Anyone can vote, and you can write in any eligible titles, editors, publishers, artists, magazines, and more!

Even the Hugos usually see only two or three thousand votes, far fewer in some categories - your votes matter!🗳️

Watch out!
RUN. RUN FAR AWAY FROM THIS CONTEST.
Venerable magazine Harper's Bazaar is running its short story contest again, with the winner receiving "the chance" of publication in the magazine. Just one catch: per the wording of the guidelines, _just by entering_ you transfer copyright ownership of your story to Harper's parent, Hearst. 1/3

I’ve got links in thread for you! I’m really proud of the work I did last year, especially the poem I cowrote with @kambriel.com !

There is not a day where love doesn't help just a little. Where kindness won't matter. Kindness and love always matter.

I care to my marrow, and I love when people let me. I love when people respond in kind. Share in kind. Show in kind.

Things are ghastly. Love out loud. Share the good stuff.

My WIP (that may or may not be a novelette) is taking me far longer than normal. But I’m really loving the process. It’s the best when you feel like a story’s challenging you. I think I’m going to be really pleased with this one. Hopefully editors and readers will be too.

Let's support Nightmare Magazine
We've received more than 2,500 submissions at Nightmare this submissions period (and we don't close until midnight).
I don't know exactly how I'll get through all these subs, but I do know that if every submitter bought just one issue of the magazine, it would pay for a year of content.
