Thank you @carlkinsella.bsky.social

Unfortunately Carl is right, until FF & FG actually consider thousands of homeless kids a crisis which effects them & thier voter base, they won't act.

Hello it's me the leader of the party full of landlords that has been in power your whole adult life and created the housing crisis we now refuse to resolve.

I'm here to tell you it's actually the foreigners' fault.

So it seems there is a multi-National sportball event taking place that may explain the rash of tricolours. I’ll be counting them again .

"a fact, in my view"

What an interesting turn of phrase.

In that case it's a fact, in my view, that Simon Harris is partially responsible for someone trying to burn kids alive last week.

Tánaiste Simon Harris has said it was a “dog whistle” for those in the Social Democrats to compare him to Nigel Farage.

He said other political parties are calling him names 'for stating a fact, in my view, that migration has risen at too high a rate'. jrnl.ie/6866587
Harris says it is a ‘dog whistle’ to compare him to Nigel Farage
Social Democrats TDs have accused Harris’s comments as coming straight out of ‘Farage playbook’.

Upon mature recollection:

- Ceded incomplete independence to Catholic Church
- Made a hames of economic development
- Bankrupted the country 3 times in 3 generations
- Handed keys of the state to the IMF, EU and ECB
- Blind eyes to generations of institutional failings/abuses

They didn't just stop building public housing, they sold off the existing stock at significant discounts, didn't replace it and used the proceeds to fund other public spending.

IIRC, John Bruton was a great advocate of this act of Hibernothatcherite vandalism.

The housing crisis in Ireland dates back to the 1980’s when the Government stopped building public housing, and failed to reform the private rental sector. This was at a time of massive emigration. Blaming recent immigrants for housing problems is as logical as blaming moving statues. #SpéirGhorm
