Margaretta was an incredible activist, imprisoned by the state on numerous occasions for her Shannon Airport protests, they imprisoned her even when she was in her 80's. I spent a hilarious night with her in derry a few years back. She will be missed ❤️

I often wonder if my kids & I should be counted in these statistics. When I couldn't find anywhere to rent my kids had to move in with their grandparents & I moved into a friend's spare room as a temporary measure. I'm still here over a year later - because there's nowhere affordable to rent

This is a much needed and long overdue change. And not just for women candidates.
The Electoral Commission has recommended legislative change to stop election candidates' addresses appearing on the ballot paper in a bid to provide additional safety for women in politics.

Friends of the Earth has created a cold, draughty sitting room outside the Dáil to highlight energy poverty.

Renters taking part say they are paying high rents for substandard, poorly insulated homes and facing rising energy bills as winter sets in.

Listening to this now. It's so sad and sickening to me that the State shows only the most basic level of care for children in 'care'. Did you know that kids in care don't all get therapeutic supports? I didn't know that until I listened to this 😳
This week on The Explainer: New data obtained by @investigates.thejournal.ie shows a pattern of repeated disappearances from Ireland’s State-run residential centres.

Why are these figures so high? And what does it say about Ireland’s care system?
