the "left" also broadly advocated for open access community owned gigabit fiber networks while the right coddled monopoly access to the detriment of progress and affordability for four decades

Ultimately, the Left won't embrace AI because rather than salesmen and financiers, the left is composed of professionals, lawyers and educators who read the way AI misrepresents our expertise and conclude all its answers are equally fraught with error. When you don't know anything, AI feels smart.

The left tried for decades to pass green energy subsidies, passed them, the subsidies worked, and now literally the entire planet's electricity grid is going to convert to solar+battery. It just doesn't feel like "tech" because it mostly produces kinda boring blue collar jobs instead of billionaires

Sincerely, this is a "look what they took from us" thing for me. I agree Robocop 2 stinks, give or take the robots, but buffing all the skankiness out of studio films makes them less memorable; mandating that everyone onscreen be hot means not just no new Noonans but no Duvall-style character stars.
"Robocop 2" is a bad movie on its own merits but it's a perfect example of a genre of film that only existed in the 80s and 90s which was: a bad action movie saved by the fact that both the protagonist and the antagonist are played by really weird actors.

If the right dominates the infosphere, if they can demonize any marginalized population they turn their eye on, then strategizing around *a current snapshot of public opinion* is almost definitionally misguided. They can change that opinion. Dems can't seem to, or won't try. All else is noise.

Hey so this is important. Amazon is removing ALL erotica and new queer books from its Amazon associates program, which seems to be a first step towards delisting these books a la itchio.

This includes my book, your books, and the books you like to buy.

This is bad news, and we can expect worse
This feels like a REALLY BIG DEAL. I personally don't buy from Amazon if I can help it, but when I Heart SapphFIC promotes my 🪐📚books, I for sure include their link.

What’s worse is, on some level the American Civil War was a sequel to the English Civil War, since people from the Roundhead faction mostly settled in the North and people from the Cavalier faction mostly settled in the South.
Americans are the only people weird enough to fight a civil war over the last civil war.

Meanwhile there are amazing people with lots of ideas who aren’t getting funded smh
AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.
