J'le call: ça va être, si ça ne l'est déjà, un désastre faramineux.

"During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night.

The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for."
I'm gonna say this with all the kindness in my heart: you aren't going to survive if you don't let your life have room for other things.

This is not a short term fight where we can just go 24/7 and then it will be over. We've got YEARS ahead of us. Take a break. Hydrate. Go bake something. Breathe.

"Rather be righteous and dead than ever be one of them"

Tattoo this on my heart
They have fucking assault rifles and we have whistles and they’re scared shitless, because they know we’d rather be righteous and dead than ever be them.

I have stopped googling things. Mostly word meanings or double checking calculations. I found an old scientific calculator, I'm using my paper dictionary. Seeing AI responses OR getting pages upon pages of webslop has created a pavlovian response and unwired nearly two decades of "let's google it"

I have taken rescue medication and I am bracing for my first migraine of 2026. Almost made it a whole two weeks without prodrome/migraine. It's a kind of progress I guess?

Okay, someone needs to write a couple more verses to this and teach it to every wine mom in Minneapolis.
🎵Come out La Migra goons
In your stumbling platoons
Tell your wives how you ate shit on ice for quotas
Tell her how despite your guns
all you ever did was run
from the cold and frozen streets of Minnesota!🎵
(now brainstorming 'Come Out ICE and CBP' after my wife played Black & Tans driving into town)

One of my favourite things to think about (as in: "thanks, I hate it") as the USA barrels full-speed into unapologetic white-supremacist eugenics is that Québec's government really decided that most of its citizens' health care data should live on or go through Microsoft Azure servers in the USA.

No liveblogging the Victoire-Charge game tonight, lads. I have a few things I gotta do (and I can't buy Amazon Prime, sorry not sorry).

The curiosity was killing me. The guy said he found the ad on Instagram and that, as of today, the post is still up. So I spent an hour or so on a spreadsheet of every single bar, pub, or club I could find in Salt Lake City, almost 100.

None of them posted it

People absolutely forget that students are workers.
Never mind the fact that one of the "changes" that has occurred over the past 20 years is the amount of paid labour students are performing while also studying full time. Most literally don't have time to read.

Na, these institutions will welcome armed state thugs onto campus to terrorize students. Those with any sort of political awareness and initiative are villainized and punished academically, then turned over to the cops for further "re-education."

Oh but they won't read the article I assigned! WAHH

If we as a society don't make education meaningful we cannot expect students do create meaning for themselves, and we have allowed the utter degradation of the system by allowing it to become nothing more than big business. Students are grist for the mill. We don't even guarantee their safety.

Instead, they're working whatever shit job they can find if they're lucky enough to be employed, living with six other students in a basement suite, queuing for the food bank, trying to get physical and mental health support, and sitting outside my class 45 minutes before it starts.

I know exactly why my first year university students struggle to read all the material they are assigned. Because they are STRESSED and anxious and living in precarious times. And it all feels kind of pointless when a degree guarantees nothing, no higher quality of life.

My secondary 3 geography teacher must be losing his mind right now. I remember he spent a whole day explaining to us how to use the Stats Can website which was just starting to get user friendly. He used to say the work done at Stats Can was some of the most essential record keeping in the country.

You know what's fun? And by fun I mean objectively terrifying? Looking up prominent USA Black Lives Matter protesters from 2014-2020 and seeing which ones have mysteriously died.

Structure conservatrice typique.

The last two world wars were both about imperialist powers fighting each other over the right to extract wealth from the colonies. This is a known outcome of capitalist imperialism. We've been here before.

Incredible watching liberals realizing all of a sudden that war is bad when they're talking about white people fighting white people, like it's a ridiculous idea, like fascism doesn't inevitably eat itself, like this isn't the endpoint of all imperialist expansion.
I can't believe I'm posting this video - but we actually have to have a conversation about the real world implications of America going to war over Greenland.

Let me walk you through it. It doesn't turn out well for us.
