Super rough first draft but the only bit of my WIP so far that talks about hair at all.

... Should I be talking about hair more?
The inch-thick foam camping “mattresses” they’d bought at the army surplus store on the drive into the Maritimes did not really cover the entire of the rectangular bunk. Kaia had decided that, between the choice of sharing a bunk with either Gael and Freyja — there were only two bunks, one nestled against each side of the hull — it was Freyja in all her bony glory that was the softer pillow, and so she had decided to bunk with Freyja. Which meant that no matter how closely (or not) they fell asleep, Freyja woke up every morning with Kaia half-sprawled on top of her, pinning her against the inside of the hull, shining black hair tickling her nose and chin. The boat rocked gently in the morning tide. Freyja enjoyed the sound of the water against the hull, metallic and soothing. Carefully repositioning Kaia’s arms, gentle so that the other girl could keep sleeping, Freyja found the vibrating Blackberry that had woken her up with her alarm. From a porthole above Gael’s bunk, there was the early glittering sun, but it still felt early, that early morning gold that is brilliant but still a little timid.

Oh shit.
A reddit post about Santé Quebec that reads: Great job Sante quebec Well, great job everybody. It turns out the first thing Sante quebec did is to end all non-permenent contracts, regardless of position or performance. Just like that. My wife spent years working her butt off in school and in the system to get here and all she got now is a a two week warning that her job is abolished. And who will handle the patients who she used to help? Who will help get people back on their feet and out of the door? Nobody. Multiple hard working people that helped people walk again, regain their autonomy and be better are now gone from the system. You think the system is bad now. Give it 6 months. Next on the chopping block will be to take away everybody's GP and make sure that every single person has to wait a month before seeing any doctor. And nobody will say a thing. We will just continue getting the worst service in all of Canada as a province because of the incompetence and stupidity of our local government.
