Whale Boat by Aster olsen — Imposter
The plywood plank would not conform to the boat’s frame despite Trond’s frustrated efforts. The workshop floor was covered in sawdust and sweat and discarded tools from where he’d thrown them, and now...

Booted up Mass Effect 2, went to investigate an anomaly on the planet Tarith. The real anomaly was the planet being populated by Carolina wrens that can evidently breathe chlorine gas.

The free speech activist who built a list of professors he worked to get fired for their speech must be celebrated for his support of free speech, and anyone who quotes his speech accurately in context will be fired and/or face state punishment by the champions of free speech, do I have that right?

I can't be the only one who, whenever opening the map on my phone to check my wife's shared location, can't help but sing "where is my wife" to the tune of the Pixies' "Where is my mind?"

Alright everyone. Republicans are going to force a vote on their gender affirming care provision even though it violates Senate rules. They’ll need 60 votes to keep it in. Now is the time to make your voice heard and ask your Senators to stand on the side of health care freedom.
Transgender medicaid ban and definition of sex are back in the federal bill - Dems can raise a point of order and force a vote, and as long as we don't lose 7 dems on this, Dems can keep it out.

Definitely worth some phone calls folks.

This means that Democrats will have to raise a point of order on this part of the bill. This would force a vote on the amendment that would require 60 votes. Republicans have 53 Senate seats, so it means they would need to pick off 7 Democrats for this.

Someone else said something very similar to this the other day, but.

It really burns me that our (millennials') generation was legally terrorized for like, downloading Radiohead discographies

But we're supposed to be ok with billionaires stealing human intellectual output in its entirety bc AI

"the state can just summarily imprison someone without filing charges or holding a trial" doesn't just overturn democracy it overturns 1000 years of common law, like throwing out the entire legal system entirely and saying all people in America are the state's property.
They continue to violate a court order to retrieve someone they illegally deported.

We’re now well beyond a constitutional crisis. If they’re allowed to do this, their secret police can sweep up anyone, for any reason, deport them & refuse to bring them back.

That would be the end of democracy.

I moved from Florida and brought my umbrella with me. I've come to describe the weather as Florida rain or Seattle rain. And when it's Florida rain? I will not be shamed out of using my umbrella😤 (But most of the time it's unnecessary weight to carry.)

The Silicon Valley billionaires & techno-feudal lords who are waging a capitalists' coup right now are rebelling against the people & the "free market" for rejecting them & the tech they need us to become dependent on. They're taking over the government to ensure we have no more choice in the matter

Somehow I've gone two years in Seattle without seeing a raccoon and tonight there's one on my roof, looking at me through the skylight, eating a dead rat in the rain.

it IS antisemitism to conflate Zionism with Judaism.

it IS antisemitism to disparage the entire Jewish diaspora by tying them inextricably to the Occupation state and it's imperialist white supremacist machinations.
