The left/right schism is fundamentally a rift between people whose extensive training in literacy has insulated them from the disorienting effects of the internet, but only through a process of detachment; and people without all that, plus some sociopaths.
As self-employed people, we've been getting our insurance from the marketplace for years now, and it sucks so much ass. Plans are discontinued every year or two, meaning we have to choose a new one, and it's always a crapshoot as to whether the meds we're already on will still be covered.
Dr. Oz is clearly a moron who, incredibly, doesn't understand anything about how the insurance system works.
But also: Conservatives genuinely believe that people want to spend endless hours "choosing the insurance that's best for them." They don't. They want good, secure health care. It's simple.

I'd actually argue that Summers' has such extreme biases when it comes to race and gender, that his expertise is suss.
I refuse to believe that Larry Summers' expertise and skills are indispensable in any way. Please find another economist and policy expert, @americanprogress.bsky.social. There are loads out there.

Yeah, this is what I wonder: how much of it was just that, if you were a very rich man, Epstein was a walking talking permission structure who also made you feel smart and erudite and always seemed to show up with a bunch of girls
The least nefarious explanation is that being the money guy for some very wealthy guys is mostly about being a fun hang and hanging out with Epstein was probably always "fun".
Is there a single known case of Epstein actually blackmailing someone? The emails seem to reveal a guy everyone thought was their friend, not exactly a blackmail shakedown. I know he got a bunch of money from Les Wexner and Leon Black, but do we actually know WHY?
