This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Trans people and gender-affirming care are being threatened everywhere in the US every single day. Oregon is the queerest state in the country, yet we have never elected an out trans woman to office.

I want to change that.

Let’s change who’s in the room when these discussions happen, one by one.
Sarah McBride put out a fundraising post on her Instagram specifically denouncing Republicans for trying to ban gender-affirming health care for trans people. It's probably one of the most forceful statements I've read from her.

We are spending $1 trillion on debt service alone at this point, the fiscal crisis is here, and we gotta soak everybody up and down the scale to get out of it with our hair intact
One of my more controversial opinions is that the US needs to significantly raise taxes to the tune of a couple % of GDP right now, even before any expansive social democratic reforms, and that means you—yes you, dear highly educated professional—will need to pay up, not just nebulous billionaires.

the thing about being an ailing strong man who is increasingly less efficacious on the whole "strong man" part is that you have to constantly do this routine which quixotically runs opposite of your actual strength. he's weak and petty unpopular pedophile who is quite possibly dying in public.

It's going to take longer to remove everything and all the damage he's done than it will take for Trump 2.0 who Republicans convince themselves is totally different than Trump to just get back to it, it's a structural problem that building things in the fed government is harder than destroying them.
"When it happens, Republicans will object (and you can only imagine the meltdown Trump himself will have on Truth Social). The response Dems give should be simple: *Too bad. We have the power now.* A strong message must be sent to the country and future generations that Trump will not be honored."
Why every vestige of Trump must be torn down
He's trying to create a physical legacy. The moment he's out of power, it has to be smashed to bits.

The last four words are also important here. The USAID cuts should primarily be seen as a eugenicist project. Elon Musk and the far right, generally, believe that foreign aid is a part of the Great Replacement.
This thought has been lingering in my head for a while but this tweet prompted me to write it out.

the only mention in this piece is about how she’s upset trump hasn’t done *enough* to harm trans kids. oh and a quote from her saying trans people are all “perverted”.

what is going on at NYT?

Our Reporters Reached Out for Comment. They Were Accused of Stalking and Intimidation.
Our journalists reach out to people they’re writing about to ensure fairness. But in this environment, they’ve found their efforts to do so are more likely to be vilified than appreciated.
