The current person in charge of ICE's procurement for detention is a GEO Group executive who ran the company's immigration detention portfolio. He was granted an "ethics waiver" from DHS allowing him to hand out contracts to GEO in his new role.

They're coming for adult care and they're explicit about it.
Kevin Roberts, President of The Heritage Foundation, claims that evidence suggests a correlation between undergoing Trans Medical Care and acts of violence.

He states Heritage's public policy solution is to ban it for all ages and they're willing to work towards this goal on an incremental basis.

And they say transit activism is dead in portland!
From six total miles of BAT lanes in October, to 14 miles of BAT lanes today. One member of the project committee said the voices of transit advocates is what made the difference.

It would be Portland's largest-ever transit priority project.

A win for transit on 82nd, but concerns remain
A decision on BAT lanes moves the project forward. For now.

Structural transphobia at work.
So... turns out if you are staying in one of the overnight shelters that Wilson popped up - if you are taking hormones via injection, you're tossed out. There is no secluded or supervised space where you can do that and dispose of the needle. They just say "NO NEEDLES" and kick you out.

Are you angry about SB 1586, the massive land giveaway to data centers and big business?

The good news is that constituents are too. Sen. Sollman (D-Hillsboro), the sponsor of the bill, has drawn a strong primary challenger: Myrna Muñoz, Rep. Lesly Muñoz's sister.

Muñoz pointed to her ties to local immigrant farm working communities while noting that she was running to improve civil rights for everyone.

corrupt, but also staggeringly incompetent and catastrophically understaffed when it comes to planning and administrative capacity
One of my firm beliefs about ICE's $79B budget is that the organization is so corrupt it'll grift and graft it's way through that pile of dough so fast it'll make heads spin.
$92 million for porta-potties? Big spending at Florida’s “Alligator Alcatraz.”

I am 100% sure that have been more articles about youth gender surgeries than actual youth gender surgeries in 2026. When is someone going to reckon with the fact that ‘pivoting’ on this issue means signing on to a moral panic?
