The absolute disconnect of a class of rich political commentators from the reality of America should be studied.

Ezra Klein who has been famously wrong about nearly everything over the last 5 years does not deserve a years salary for a talk.

Most underrated Biden admin mistake was bailing out Silicon Valley Bank.

SVB bet big on low interest rates and lost. Rich tech VCs who put too many eggs in that basket generated a bank run, then called for govt money.

Got their bailout, helped elect Trump, and now reaping rewards from corruption.
David Sacks, presumably, on the push by some in the tech and VC world to fund a primary challenge to Congressman Khanna.

Biden refusing to hire the people who ran the Obama campaign + WH and instead surrounding himself with old family friends is how we got into the shit sandwich without a viable candidate in '24
Blaming the voters instead of the people whose job it is to turn out voters is in fact the default position of too many democrats. There’s this idea that the wunderkinds attached to Clinton and Obama re to always be obeyed even though their shitty strategies are powering GOP wins.
Trump literally campaigned on ethnic cleansing and a plurality of Americans said “Yup, that’s what we want.” I will never understand why there is so much resistance to holding voters responsible for the dogshit (and yes, often bigoted/sexist) choices they make.

This isn't a popular idea. This is an *elite* belief. There's no mass of voters who recoil from impeachment like this. Majorities wanted him convicted the last two times, and the same would easily poll >50% today. The handwringing about the sacred presidency is DC-driven, it's not voter-driven.
The popular idea is that removing a president to replace him with a non-criminal president from his party, and usually elected on his ticket, is a coup.

Do governors/mayors get replaced by number 2s all the time? Yes. There's poli sci work on this, the power of the presidency blinds people.

Of course he can't meet with Zelensky without Putin giving him notes first
U.S. President Donald Trump: "I just had a good and very productive telephone call with President Putin of Russia prior to my meeting, at 1:00 P.M. today, with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine. The meeting will take place in the main dining room of Mar-a-Lago. Press is invited."

Tbh I don't see this taking a big market share. The dosing is really challenging and it's gonna require no food or drink for an hour window on either side of dose

Wait for the cyclic peptide agonists that will be bomb-proof vs trypsin and can get intestinal absorption rather than stomach lining

I mean sure, we already bombed Nigeria tonight. Why not a nightcap with Venezuela to boot?
Could be just normal ops, but four tankers out of MacDill and an E‑3 are currently heading southeast toward the Caribbean on Christmas night. It’s interesting, at the very least. One of them is shown in the screenshot below.

Trolling or is he actually thinking about resigning?

The DOJ spent years covering up a suicide note from Epstein to fellow pedophile Larry Nasser where he laments that they were imprisoned for their tape of children while Donald Trump was not.
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

The fact that so many Democratic electeds and pundits said that we should ignore it is a stain on the party. Voters want, and the country needs, an opposition party willing to act like an opposition party.

Shout-out to those who refused to ignore it (e.g,. Chris Van Hollen).

Yeah anybody who's giving any credence to Lakshya's model as an objective measure of anything is a pathetically naive rube.
also, these "WAR" values (a) are derived from a statistical model that produces ideologically convenient results that no other open-source model replicates, (b) lack controls for important factors like fundraising and candidate experience, and (c) completely ignore uncertainty in the data. not good!
it is one thing to say "here is what our measurements tell us about the playing field," it is something very different to leap from that to "and here is why we have a better understanding of your specific circumstance and your particular electorate than you, the person who represents the district"

🙄🙄🙄

Who is still reading this small, ignorant putz?
There’s nothing wrong with @casten.house.gov being an electoral underperformer in a safe seat, but in his thread attacking me he is asking Democrats to defer to his political judgment. I think it’s a smarter bet to defer to folks who overperform in tough races.

This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...

It's exhausting.

I never thought I'd say this but feeling so bleak this morning, part of me wishes they'd cut the smokescreen and just admit they don't like Jews - in Israel or anywhere else. Embrace the racism. Stop pretending they're the good guys on the side of progressive values. Be honest.

People who pride themselves on tiptoeing over language, who talk about words as violence and the importance of listening and lived experience, will suddenly just go "no, we don't believe you, you're the one misinterpreting those words, we're going to use them anyway".

But only when it comes to Jews

I'll say it again: if any other ethnic or religious minority said "please don't use this particular term or chant, you might not have bad intentions but it is deeply racist and threatening to us", the reaction would be mortified apology.

And that's without a mass terror event four days ago

BREAKING: The Democratic National Committee will NOT release its long-awaited autopsy on Trump's 2024 win. The report is completed but Dem leaders decided it could distract from their winning streak, so it will remain secret. Not good.

FITCH on CPI:

".. positive news overall, but the lack of detail and the absence of data collection during the shutdown introduce a degree of skepticism that’s hard to ignore. We’ll need to wait until next month for a clearer read .. Tariff passthrough remains muted, even as companies stocked up .."
