This is like THE thing. Best part of a great thread, and is totally a thing where one can replace Parker with a ton of other Main Characters and it’s just as true.
that rage some of you are still feeling towards Parker? notice how it stayed in your chest even after she deactivated her account?

that’s because the rage is actually meant for the people in power hurting you. don’t scapegoat marginalized people for fascists. point yourself towards the enemy, nerd.

you can talk about a topic without context collapsing discourse into a digital version of “smear the queer”.

god knows i am not perfect either & have in the past also vented my stress towards others who probably didn’t deserve it.

that’s why i’m reiterating we have to do better & it is possible.

30 years ago they were like we have to ban song lyrics for the children but it’s full steam ahead for the here’s how to do drugs until you die machine
“ChatGPT started coaching Sam on how to take drugs, recover from them and plan further binges. It gave him specific doses of illegal substances, and in one chat, it wrote, ‘Hell yes—let’s go full trippy mode’”

First time? Call of Cthulhu, Masks of Nyarlethotep, back in the mid-1990’s. Still the longest campaign I’ve finished!
Remember the first time you played a really great role-playing game with a great group and you became a little obsessed?

Do you still remember it fondly years later?

And bonus: what game was it, and was it a module or home brew adventure?

The destruction doesn't make for a photo-op like tearing down the East Wing of the White House or bulldozing the Rose Garden, but it's every bit as bad. Generations of American children learned to spell and count, learned the Preamble to the Constitution, from watching shows produced by the CPB.

CW #metoo —>Did you see Greta Thunberg’s post about sexual assault of aid workers on the flotilla? It’s full of statements by women who were assaulted during detention and incredibly horrific. I’ve barely seen it reported anywhere—I understand some things feel too horrifying to face, but we have to.

I broke my own rule on this subject once, and it remains one of my few regrets in life.

My version is “Never share a negative take about art or an artist in public unless you are being paid for a pro review.”

Chasing the Disk Horse on social media is a mistake. Like a kelpie, it wants blood.
1. Never do this to get likes or earn clout just to be seen as a "cool" writer.
2. Writing is so subjective already. Always ask who and why.
Though there are some people who think their personal tastes speak for all and loudly proclaim them to the level of insulting the writer.

Then again these people are just arseholes and are already awful individuals.

I don’t think we fully understand the magnitude of the presidential immunity decision by the SCOTUS, this probably never would have happened if he didn’t think he was criminally immune for “official acts”. John Roberts and the 5 other fascists on the court are directly responsible.

A fun project for New Year’s Day: wind up all my leftover skeins and minis of tweedy DK to make experimental knitting projects in January. One of the fun parts of being an indie dyer that no one really talks about—discontinued yarns can either go into the Rummage Bin or straight onto my needles!🧶

The Mexican president is:

- a woman
- a Jew
- a climate scientist

A perfect storm for someone Trump would absolutely fucking love to abduct from power and throw in jail.
I think, unfortunately, the "success" of the Venezuala operation + the previously reported planning for a Mexican operation means the Trump Administration is, unless meaningfully stopped, absolutely going to be invading Mexico. This simply cannot be treated as an empty threat

When I focus seriously on knitting, I tend to watch quite a few more shows and films. Some of them are even good!

“She Rides Shotgun” was a stellar example of the disturbing and occasionally heartwarming sub-genre that I like to call “Monster Dad”.

I’m a sucker for a good Monster Dad movie.
