Dudes. I could literally write an entire novel about one Bond in an endless sequence of Bonds finally remembering that whoa, I died, I died so many times, oh shit what the hell is happening what have they done to me

What he said.

AI-Generated Everything is like wax fruit. It may look real to a casual glance, but you take a bite and—gah. No flavor. No texture. No nourishment.

No terroir.
The tides of genAI imagery flooding the nonexistent halls of our internet will likely not have a lifespan of 10 years, let alone hundreds. They're a ghost accretion of late capitalism, an anti-history that obscures humanity & time, the opposite of art, whatever its subjective quality.

I will have to re-watch his movies.

I just finished playing the Iron Rig expansion of Dredge and whew. What a beautiful finish. The team has really outdone themselves this time.

Also—the new “oil” mechanic, the way you can clean up toxic spills with your boat?

Yikes. That hit me a LOT harder than I expected, emotionally.

A generation from now, if/when the Zoomers and Gen Alpha are cleaning up this mess rather than surviving the fall of our civilization, there are going to be some changes to laws, regulations and building codes that will re-structure the world as we know it.

Here are my best guesses:

We have beaten diseases and public health challenges before. But we won’t do it this time by “being kind” to people who make up their own facts—or listen to the charlatans who do.
But you refused to ensure vaccination compliance in our school communities.

You transformed public health into "do your own research" and "be kind" even when it was clear that the anti-vaxxers from the 2000's were leveraging internet-based misinformation tools to run laps around you.

Yeah, if I see one more “eat more beans” post I am going to start shanking people. People have this idea that the things they used to eat during their “poor student” says twenty years ago are still cheap.

Wages have stagnated. Prices for food have not.
Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

This is a lie. All 31 Moms for Liberty candidates in contested races lost their 2025 elections. The only "wins" were in uncontested races. Apparently, being hypocritical, book-banning scolds isn't so popular.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Andrew Mountbatten Windsor losing all of his titles over just the possibility of the Epstein files coming out tells me all I need to know about just how bad the contents are, and why the Republicans are so desperate to never let it out.
The thing that’s so fucked up about the Epstein files is that if they’re bad bad for Trump, it’s gonna come out, and every Republican who knew what they were doing protecting him is gonna get flayed for it. And if they weren’t bad for him at all, they’d be out already.

Techbro surprised when autistic and/disabled people do not fawn over his neurotechnology claiming to help identify "pathologies such as autism" seems to be a recurring thing; but also speaks to a deep rooted ableism in the way tech is being taught, understood and enacted in relation to disability

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Still mystified by people who flip their shit over the pronouns. Like, literally I cannot parse what they can possibly dislike about knowing someone’s gender too early. Are they just pissed about spoilers…?

I kept pulling thread and found something far bigger: a 50-year pattern of abuse and cover-up in the largest Pentecostal denomination 🧵 1/

2. Monsters
3. Getting lost
4. The way people disappear from your life without warning or explanation
5. The way people suddenly reject and exclude you without warning or explanation (e.g. bullies)
6. My father

Occasionally I like to talk about my friends on BlueSky, especially if I actually met them on BlueSky.

Example: @ethankocak.com!

He’s a fantastic artist who drew a series of freelance commissions after we met on-line, including game art, my BlueSky avatar, and the logo for my textile art studio. 😎
