Is there any precedent for powerful people claiming that a nonsentient process has a personality behind it that only they and their fellow experts can understand and speak for and it knows everything and can do anything and wants to help and also it will destroy us if we dont give it what it wants

Re-upping our podcast from Friday—we talked about one angle that the game industry can adapt to the current contraction through better co-dev setups.

Peak and Escape The Backrooms are my two quick examples (but there are toxic case studies out there too).
REALLY passionate about this week’s podcast. I want to work in a game industry, not a game aristocracy. Smart co-dev setups can supercharge big games while preserving our profession.

Even writers can benefit from this! @sweetbabyinc.com’s Kim Belair joined us to explain how:

The wonderful thing about Tyggers
Is Tyggers are burning bright
Their tops are made out of rubber
In the forest of the night

What bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
Immortal hand or eye
Did frame the most wonderful thing about Tyggers,
Their fearful symmetry!

Matt Goodwin’s fixation on “young girls’” bodies is particularly repulsive given his connections with far-right Epstein affiliate Steve Bannon. Why isn’t he being pressed on the nature of that relationship?

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
