I was waiting to talk about Expelled to see if it shakes onto my top 10 list but I might as well say: it’s incredibly bold in its theme of “if a woman conforms to repressive Christian patriarchal standards of 1922 she will be invariably punished, so you might as well figure out how to save yourself”
Overboard was… good enough, I’d say—the mechanic was the draw but the story didn’t really keep me engaged with wanting to push things forward. Expelled! has the same problem of a little slack in the middle ~every deduction game has but its thematic is really strong, as is how the game reinforces it

we've been fairly cool on voice acting because it limits the complexity of the script, and the word count, and anyway, it can slow things right down. BUT, I love actors and what they bring! So for the next thing we've designed what I think is a BRILLIANT SOLUTION, for the one genre anyway
I saw some folks thinking that voice acting in games was objectively good, always a positive. "What kind of game doesn't have voice acting in 2025?!" sorta thing
I say that there are positive reasons why one would choose NOT to have VO.
