Bruce Willis kissing a man in The Jackal (1997) probably caused a stir back in the day huh?

It's clear this is bullshit. Anyone who attends a convention 'hoping to break into the world of fantasy fiction' hasn't done their homework. They have to write a damn book first. That helps. 😆

Not to mention "what makes you unique" also covers what your work is made up of. Is the fantasy work full of political intrigue? Humor? Analysis on specific narrative themes? Deconstruction of tropes? There are so many other ways the uniqueness can be interpreted.

If you're trying to write fiction, and you're at a writer's convention, it is beneficial to have some kind of personality, anecdotal man the epoch times writer heard of.

it's wild to me that coke made an ad with ai that has logo inconsistencies. this is, maybe, the most iconic brand in the world, with maybe the most iconic logo. disregarding brand safety and consistency guidelines for a logo like that in order to test drive technology nobody wants is baffling
Others have noted this before, but it's ENRAGING to see corporations and bosses give this bullshit "A.i." trash FAR more leeway for error and general crappiness than they'd ever give any human creator.
I've started to see arguments that we have to get used to AI Slop coding even if it isn't great, because it's fast. Humans could go faster, too, if they're allowed to turn in stuff that only sometimes works. Such a fascinating double standard that will in no way come back to haunt, naw.

Sectarian violence is a thing of the past in Newfoundland now. But it's good to remember that wasn't always the case. And there are people gleefully ready to use the pulpit to spark hate and violence all over again if they can.

Seeing people use generative AI is extremely embarrassing. They're like tiny children being given controllers that aren't plugged into the gaming system and they're smashing buttons shouting, "I'm winning!" Only they're adults, fully capable of playing but they want the unplugged controller.

It's so frustrating because like all our automation before this point was finding a solution to a problem but now we have all these solutions in search of a problem. We already have machines in warehouses, factories, and living rooms. Why do they need to look uncanny valley?
