Do you think saying that it took you a month to see a supposedly serious death threat makes you look more competent, less competent, or just as competent as before?

Bad snap judgments happen. But if it’s already been up for over a month, time is obviously not an important factor.

These businesspeople are going to innovate romance books by . . . doing exactly what romance authors have been doing for decades

Also their book covers look like they were made by someone who has never read a book in their life
I’ll say this much: This reads exactly like what it is: people who discovered romance five years ago and decided they had all kinds of amazing new ideas to “fix” it. Connections between books? That feel kind of cozy to the reader? How did no one ever think of that?? www.nytimes.com/2025/11/13/b...

My most woke public opinion is that every single person in the world should be guaranteed shelter, water, food, clothing, everything they need to survive including disability aids and healthcare and that this is the literal baseline for a functional society at humanity's level of advancement.
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

Yes. The minute you go “it’s romance, but, you know, not *romance*,” you’re done. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had an office with a picture of Fabio in a red circle with a line through it, har har.

Porn is also history and cultural commentary and a crucial contributor to sexual self- exploration and self expression. Porn has been vital to queer and trans people in documenting important aspects of our language, presentation, interactions, relationships, institutions and communities.
PORN IS ART, PORN IS GOOD, PEOPLE MAKING PORN IS A SIGN OF A HEALTHY SOCIETY
There has been a noticeable reticence in left and liberal circles to voice full-throated support for pornography, even as it's become increasingly clear what the open end goals of the censorship movement are

My most woke opinion? By some mechanism (gradual share transfer? Straight up nationalization?) big companies should become state property. We would have to pay little or no taxes if the big, money-printing companies were state owned. And nothing would be lost. The services more stable and reasonable
My most woke opinion? This is probably a bit of a milquetoast take, but we should do away with landlords, because if people need it to live, it shouldn't be a commodity. Nobody should get to hoard housing, not some corporation, or individual assholes.

This is so important. Public universal healthcare is extremely popular in Canada. Politicians in the pocket of huge corporations are using a stealth maneuver of death by a thousand cuts to destroy it and substitute a parasitic, private, corporate-owned system that will bankrupt vulnerable Canadians.
Let's be clear: 'lower increases' means it won't keep up with an aging population plus inflation. This is a health care cut. Neoliberals want the same as the cons, and they'll do it by eroding public options to make private options not political suicide.

The federal budget signals there is no room for the premiers to negotiate for more health-care funding in coming years, one economist says, as the Ontario government calls for that to change.

Decades of work undone. And the Alberta government is pretending they did nothing wrong, despite having more cases than all of the US combined.

And federal healthcare cuts are coming to pay for militarization. It's a grim time.
“A lot of people worked for a long time to achieve that measles elimination status, and to lose it in one year because of a failure of government action … for a disease that’s totally preventable, it just makes me sad."

In India, there's been a huge issue with vultures dying off and researchers tied it to the pain medication people were giving cows because they didn't want their cows to be in pain. In the west we just give them growth hormones and keep them in tiny pens.
