My very first color-work knitting project! I free-handed a pair of leg warmers using a skein of adorable yarn called “Truffula Trees”. I bought it from a fellow indie dyer as treat for myself.

I’ve combined the Truffula pinks with a skein of my BC Jade, which really makes them pop like crazy. 😍

A new pair of hand-knitted leg warmers made from two hand-dyed yarns: a deep green-teal as the background, and a pattern of squares made from a yarn that shifts through a range of bright, cheerful pink and lavender tones. The early phase of knitting the first leg warmers, showing the first cuff the first four rows of pink squares. The first leg warmer being modeled by my endlessly patient and helpful partner. :)

In other news, one of my local friends threw a wonderful Halloween party in her newly-restored Victorian house in Strathcona. Even the paper napkins were so cool!

Just finished a yarn commission: a rainbow of UV active skeins and some extra colours for a hand-made plush toy. These skeins are destined to become an adorable Whale Shark for a lucky kid. :)

The yarn base is Deer Tail, a delightful squishy superwash merino: strong, stretchy, washable and soft.🧶
Seven skeins of hand-dyed yarn: a neon rainbow of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet, and one cute skein of pale pink.

Ugh, I hand-painted this watercolor ombre of autumn leaves and one of the darker red dyes didn’t strike properly. Now it has come out of the wash all pale pink and my original vision will only ever exist in the WIP photo.

*sigh* RIP, vision! Art is hard.🧶

Works in progress: painting a Blackberry Spirit T-shirt with autumn colours. For my money, blackberry vines are the most beautiful autumn display in British Columbia. Even a single stem of leaves can have an incredible array of colours.🧶

Painting the last of the Moon Lady t-shirts for the year. These are on a navy blue background, and I’m making them in various adult sizes.

The painting at this stage is done with dye—always nice to work with because it leaves the shirt very soft.🧶
