This opinion is correct.
TV chefs and food writers need to stop telling people to salt aubergines. It was maybe good advice in the 70s, but utterly pointless now.

We're expanding our range of inclusive greeting cards with three Valentine's cards and one Galentine's card. It would thrill me greatly if this 'love with pride' card could do some numbers, so if you lot can give it a boost that would be lovely!

The powerful portrait of a male deity from a floor excavated by Tessa Verney Wheeler at VERVLAMIVM (St Albans) in 1931 now in Verulamium Museum

The inclusion of red lobster claws makes it likely this is Oceanus 🦞

We love the use of single rounded tesserae for his pupils 😍

I’m seeing increased use of this word and I just want to gently suggest that if there’s one word you can manage to remove from your vocabulary it should be this one.

It was coined by a eugenicist who used it as a diagnosis to forcibly institutionalize and sterilize mentally disabled people.
The Origins of the Word "Moron" Are Actually REALLY Sinister
It's much more than just a casual insult.

I shop early in Tesco & whilst I support the new cold food fridge door system for the benefit of the planet, they don't seem to put the lights on first thing inside them & I can't find anything. Hence currently trying ostrich, which, to be fair, is delicious

What I continue to remain shocked by, possibly unduly, is how hard capitalism punished ordinary workers for cutting corners and doing the bare minimum for decades, and now it's totally pivoted to telling us cheating is cool.
Last night I met a guy who said everyone in his office uses ChatGPT "because you just type in two lines and it generates a whole email for you!"

And I *very correctly* replied that "no one wants that 'whole email' they just want the two lines - and they all hate you"

A trailer for "the Waltons" popped up yesterday and in a gloomy world, it's worth reading the bio for Will Geer who played Zebulon "Grandpa" Walton.
He was a left wing activist , blacklisted , gay and probably more importantly a gardener.

This photo was taken in 1911 using glass plate technology by Herbert Ponting who was part of Scott's Antarctic expedition,

The composition and detail are exquisite with the band of white snow/ice creating a perfect frame around the two people and the ship in the distance

Iconic imo

The biggest giveaway that Stephen is a traitor is that he saved his ABBA Arrival orange-panelled jumpsuit for so late in the series. Anyone frightened of murder or banishment would have worn that wonder on day two.

Can’t believe nobody in the castle has clocked this.

This. Scratch a transphobe and you'll find under that paint will always be racism, homophobia, ableism, sexism, & authoritarianism.

All transphobes are patriarchists, conservatives, anti-progressives.

All.
I can't trust politicians who are anti-trans. Not because I'm "only searching for perfection" which is what centrists will be accusing me of for the rest of my life, it's because if you're not pro-trans you'll be garbage on lots of other issues too. Being anti-trans NEVER exists in a vacuum.
