Current kids' toys are almost always tied to character licenses (Barbie, Disney, etc.). No wonder there's such a push for "nostalgic"/vintage/secondhand toys in crunchy parenting circles. If you're trying to avoid drowning in Marvel and Disney Princesses you literally don't have much other choice

This maps very well to my experience of transfags in text-based ERP/TS on older games like MU*s. Lots of people who were (or are, in addition to their transfaggotry) lesbians, before ERP/TS gave them a way to navigate their gender without judgement or shame, formed unique queer communities.
learning someone from my alma mater wrote their master thesis on being a transmasc ERPer in FFXIV and this might be the best thing ive ever read in my life (im literally only 6 pages into it)
