I wish people were as horrified about immigrants being kidnapped and killed in detention centers as they are about this shooting at the same time I am very glad there is finally some larger momentum building against this and I hope it sustains.

You know what, everything sucks. It has for a lot of years and seems to escalate daily.
But the $$$$ my husband was recently prescribed, that we were 100% sure was going to require a battle to get insurance coverage, was approved without a peep. So I'll take the win.

The sheer number of videos of the shooting is horrific, but in the vein of what @prisonculture.bsky.social has been saying, it proves how many people cared enough to show up where ICE was and record them. It wasn't just one or two legal observers, and when Good was shot, they didn't abandon her.

I got an mmr shot yesterday and until a few hours ago thought I'd avoided any side effects. But nope, I feel like absolute crap and seeing the news today (and a certain video) did not help. It's bad enough that fevers make me cry dammit.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of finding one constructive real world offline thing you can do to use your particular skills in service of fighting fascism as a psychological defense against the constant drumbeat of fuckery
my hot take is that I don't think it's this website specifically that's toxic. the Circumstances are toxic and nobody really knows what to do about it so they come online and scream. and if I may offer an alternative: actually going outside and screaming feels better.
