The NY Times just goes through the same Rolodex of voters who help them build the narrative they want to create. Rigged journalism.
Incredible lol

Everyone who sat on their hands to allow a second Trump term because they thought Biden was being mean to Gaza should be very proud of themselves.
RE Gaza, there is every reason to be pessimistic. Millions will continue to live in tent cities, not just this winter (3rd winter) but also for the next five years - who knows?
As far as Israel is concerned, Gaza will be kept in perpetual limbo, in hope for its complete destruction and depopulation.

As we close out 2025, we can honestly say it was a pretty shitty year for DC. Unprecedented attacks on Home Rule took place, exposing the fallacy of the term Home Rule. Never forget that #DCStatehood is the ultimate goal of DC residents who seek an equal footing & place in our democracy.

A question every country needs to start asking is "on balance, is mass social media making our society better or worse". List the ways it's benefiting society, then list the ways it's harming it. If the latter list is longer, ask why you would sit back and let that situation continue

LOL fans of a particular singer did not take well to my suggestion that you shouldn’t eulogize someone if you don’t know anything about them (like the fact they were a fascist) and now I have a label 🏷️ 😂

Why yes, @mattyglesias.bsky.social, people should definitely go back to Twitter.

And, you know, it's a legitimate military target.
😵‍💫 India, UAE and Pakistan condemned the "attack by Ukraine on Putin's residence" in Valdai.

And this despite the fact that even Russian journalists went to Valdai and talked to locals who say they did not see or hear any explosions or drones that day.

Just want to be sure that all the people who screamed about "Genocide Joe" and "Holocaust Harris" see this.

"But Democra--". Look, what Trump says her is nothing new: he has never cared.

And with your ongoing silence, it's really sad to see that neither did you.

I’m starting to get the impression that the posters who all say bullying has been eradicated aren’t actually telling the truth.
there have been multiple stories of middle school girls getting harassed with generated CP of themselves over the past few years and somehow the only AI fear that seems to stick is the fucking water

if i was more conspiratorial i'd think it's a psyop
It’s the most powerful online sexual harassment tool ever invented and it’s driving people insane with parasocial relationships but the most prominent critics lie about water use.

No, but tax them very differently when pledged as collateral.
No my man, the answer absolutely involves taxing those gains.

It’s always funny how taxing unrealized gains is a no-no but borrowing against it is fine.

How about we make borrowing against any and all unrealized gains an immediately taxable event.

Sure, sure... we can not tax unrealized gains... cool... cool... instead we should tax any loans taken out that collatalorize those unrealized gains. While we are at it, we can close the estate/unrealized gains loophole and book them at value at time of death, not purchase for the inheritor. Heh.

As anyone who watches Morse (or Endeavour, but maybe not Lewis) would know.
Freemasonry was a real and powerful force in the 19th century, when multiple semi-secret societies were ways of bonding for powerful men and aspiring powerful men. By the second half of the 20th century it was in steep decline in the UK *except* in the police, where lodge membership remained …
Can someone explain why the London police (“coppers”) and the Masons (???) are fighting? And also what century it is over there?
