I ran out of words, live in Northumberland - a very old and interesting kingdom of the past. Steeped in history and glorious scenery, though pre Covid we explored all manner of places including Amtrak across the USA, Vietnam, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Bali, Singapore and loads of Europe by train.

This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

Yes, quite. It's the biggest scandal of this administration, so far, probably. It's an average Tuesday under Johnson.
OK this makes me extremely angry. Has everyone forgotten the massive profiteering from thousands of avoidable pandemic deaths?? The unconstitutional suspension of parliament to force through an act of nationalist destruction that cost our children their future??

By the time Starmer is replaced this summer, we'll have had two wasted years, in which a country crying out for transformation instead got more of the same, or even worse where environmental legislation is concerned, and a high possibility of Farage running the next government.
Thanks Keir.

Under Attlee (1945–1951), the state built hundreds of thousands of council houses to tackle the post-war shortage

Under Starmer, £39 billion goes to private firms with e.g. 10% margin, instead of direct state building

Labour is giving poor value for money by relying on profit-driven contractors

They have been sold to billionaire bankers who do not pay ANY tax in the UK on the money.

As well as leaving 4m people in crippling debt they are destroying the economy.

It’s on their website. That’s how comfortable fascists are in the UK today.
