The first Die Hard should’ve been called Die Beginner, then part two Die Intermediate, then finally when Samuel L. shows up it should’ve been Die Hard. Gotta ease into things. They painted themselves into a corner, that’s why the second one was Die Harder. Had nowhere left to go.

The BBC removed a line about Trump being the most openly corrupt president in American history...from a lecture about the cowardice of today's elites.
I wonder if the BBC has heard of the Streisand Effect
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

This isnt a needle they can thread. Making it more engaging reduces utility, more hallucinations, less usefulness as a tool. Either we have to decide AI is something we can use to build tomorrow, or we decide AI is just an infinite dopamine machine. We cant have both.

I once knew a Federal bank examiner, and one time someone asked him why we had to KEEP inspecting banks over and over. He basically said every new batch of business school grads invents bank fraud from first principles.
AirBnB CEO calling it “vibe revenue” just 👨‍🍳 😘

The underlying cause of every bubble - debt masquerading as financial innovation - depends on not just short financial memory & speculative neophytism, but reinventing jargon of finance, like how each generation of kids has new ways to say same things.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Bovino went into popular Carniceria Aguascalientes in heart of Little Village.
“They said they were just here to buy something,” said Elizabeth Gutierrez. “I told them we wouldn’t serve them and escorted them out. Bovino seemed upset, but I don’t care.” www.chicagotribune.com/2025/11/08/c...

This is going to get spun as a "thermostatic shift" chart, but it should be properly interpreted as a "information environment is broken" chart.

In 2024, voters didn't know what Trump would do, and so they shifted towards him based on vibes. Now they are finding out, and they hate it.
Nearly every county in Virginia has shifted blue in a massive statement against Donald Trump.

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.
