This is beta mindset, Gareth. Your spouse is your co-worker. Your parents are your boss. Your kids are employees. The only relationship you should get "emotionally attached to" is the one you have with that AI chatbot who loves you because of the new branch of physics you've invented together.
You're supposed to be emotionally attached in a relationship. That's what a relationship is.
