Delete Spotify
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

Max has asthma and he experiences worsened symptoms when exposed to wood burning smoke from neighbouring properties. He finds that the smoke from wood burning in his area means he is less likely to exercise outside, go for a walk or even open his windows.

Wood burning, the most polluting way to heat our home, produces fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5), which enters our bloodstream when inhaled & can cause heart & lung disease.

Amid all the arguments back and forth about if the government should ban twitter or not I think we’re leaving out one of the key details:

they should ban twitter because I would personally find it very funny

This is an interesting article - but it buries FAR too deeply the important idea that new tech can make the field accessible to people who cannot, for various reasons, participate in field work.

It's there - but gosh it's buried deeply!
New technologies are revolutionising ecology, with more data than ever available at our fingertips. But what are the costs and perils of ecologists doing less field work?
