What you’re witnessing is a populist assault on the BBC.

This is not an institutional scandal in any meaningful sense of the word. It is an attack on public service broadcasting.

one of the examples that the telegraph uses to claim that the BBC is biased in its climate change coverage is that they once said polar bears are in decline due to a loss of sea ice
The Telegraph routinely spreads myths about a range of subjects - especially climate change.

It has been forced to publish over 100 corrections this year so far.

Yet it has the gall to lecture the BBC - and whip up a national panic - about journalistic standards
The Telegraph’s Record of Climate Falsehoods

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Last Friday, I had the honour of announcing the theme for LGBT+ History Month 2026, 'Science and Innovation'. This is my 5th LGBT+ History Month since starting with the charity in 2021!

This is an exciting theme for me as a queer science communicator.

this is absolutely wild framing of a story which should read 'eating meat to blame for Amazon tree-felling and polluting UK rivers'

"It is unclear whether the company will face punishment, such as a fine for the spill. The Environment Agency has been contacted for comment."

christ what a state we're in where a company admits liability for a 'massive pollution event' and we're not even sure if they'll face any consequences

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Originally installed in the town’s Dolphin Centre (formerly the Arndale Centre) in 1969, the wooden Hippo, Turtle, and Whale sculptures were by renowned artist Peter Hand (1929-2024). 🧵
