We are a UK network seriously concerned about #AirPollution’s impact on children’s health. All welcome, not just mums.

Happy New Year! We're getting back into the swing of things, and happy to see this news over the weekend that we're "leaving the #Diesel age".

Considering the #Health effects of the excess diesel emissions that we're still breathing today, losing diesel from our roads can't come soon enough.
Battery electric cars will overtake diesels in Great Britain by 2030, analysis suggests
London predicted to be the first UK city to go diesel-free, largely because of the ultra-low emission zone

It's a month until #CleanAirNight, a campaign that raises awareness of the impact of wood burning on #Health & #AirPollution.

People contact us every week due to being impacted by others' burning. Can you help us share the facts? Burning pollutes not only your home, but your local community too.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to pitch this, and for choosing our pitch to go forward @commonseac.parliament.uk. We were really impressed by all the teams pitching - a tough crowd! We hope they get their chance in due course.
Air pollution will be the subject of our new inquiry, following a winning pitch from @mumsforlungs.bsky.social and @unisouthampton.bsky.social in our Environment in Focus competition.

We're pleased to see this new #AirPollution alert system in the #WestMidlands.

As with the London alert system, it will only be triggered if pollution levels go above legal thresholds, which are far higher than the World Health Organization recommends, but it's a good start.
Free 'dirty air' warnings to be issued across West Midlands
People will be able to get the alerts in the form of texts, emails or voicemail messages.

This new podcast from The Green Londoner features an #AirPollution discussion with Professor Frank Kelly. Good to hear the Professor's explanation that London still has a way to go on NO2, despite recent DEFRA data suggesting otherwise. He summarises the issues with #WoodBurning really well too.

This is powerful, on Hebburn residents' fight against the Monkton cokeworks.

There are echoes here with the Corby Steelworks, Southall Gasworks & Launders Lane campaigns, to name three.

Some French scientists set out to investigate.

For the Guardian, my latest piece looks at UFP exposure.
