Did you catch Tom's keynote at our latest Annual Meeting in Edinburgh?

Is the collective will to tackle the biodiversity and climate crisis slipping down the political agenda? If so, how do we turn this around?

Tom will be exploring this in a fascinating-sounding talk in Norwich later this year👇
The @britishecologicalsociety.org conf' in Edinburgh renewed my mojo for pushing the battle scarred environmental message. So many passionate, active people dedicating professional lives to nature. Thanks @davyfalkner.bsky.social It is the foundation for an upcoming talk in Norwich bit.ly/49RtM2U

I joined the BES to find other open, curious folks working in ecology and conservation that I could learn from. I stayed for the decolonising approaches, support for ecology globally, and inclusivity. Rapt to be named as a new Fellow alongside some very inspiring people working for the planet.

Fungus or a festive ornament? 🍄This small, spheroid fungus (Abortiporus biennis) was found on decaying wood, its main nutrient source, in an urban park in Nanning, China. The vivid red liquid settled on the white surface is guttation – when fungi excrete their internal liquid.

We heard from two ecologists at @stir.ac.uk about their research looking at how land use impacts beaver behaviour and an overlooked nature-based solution these recovering rodents could be providing.
