The most horrifying AI slop of ICE raids you can possibly imagine is wildly viral on Facebook, collectively totaling tens of millions of views from a single account. First spotted by @chadloder.bsky.social

AI-Generated Videos of ICE Raids Are Wildly Viral on Facebook
An account is spamming horrific, dehumanizing videos of immigration enforcement because the Facebook algorithm is rewarding them for it.

marx was anti-capitalist in the sense that he longed for what (he thought) would come after; these days it seems many anti-capitalists are anticapitalists insofar as they long for what came before

or i guess more relevantly here, karl marx recognized capitalism as a *new and distinct* phenomenon, something radical and different which was sweeping away an old shitty order

these days you ask people what capitalism is and they'll give you a definition indistinguishable from feudalism

Because a lot of people don't consider statutory rape or rape via dubious consent, manipulation, economic or social pressure, etc, to be that bad. That's why there's this made up version of Epstein where he was keeping 8 year olds in cages for a "sex ring," versus what we know he did
trump is almost certainly not only a child rapist but a person in on the trafficking, and it’s bizarre that it isn’t framed that way and talked about in the press
i mean c’mon. the president’s best friend was the most notorious pedo in the country’s history who ran a massive child trafficking ring. every bit of circumstantial evidence we have says that trump was a participant. if this were a criminal trial we’d have enough evidence to compel a plea deal.

“The big tent goes both ways,” she said. “When we’re building a big tent, yes, it means welcoming people who are in the center or to the right of us. But it also means welcoming people who might be to the left. The center of our party has used purity politics to cancel or exclude progressives"

Despite what Trump wants you to think, he was president during Covid, he issued checks with his name on them as stimulus, and then he lost the 2020 election.
theyre gonna give everyone an illegal “tariff check” that’s like 93% unfunded right before the midterms. not great idk
QUINTANILLA: What's more likely -- a $2,000 tariff rebate check or a 50 year mortgage?

HASSETT: They're both really good ideas

Most of what this shows is that costs of labor have risen. Goods are cheap, services are expensive, because paying people costs more.
Pretty much all affordability discourse could benefit from just posting this chart.

If you're in the better off America, all the luxury goods you want in excess are for the most part much cheaper. If you're in the poorer America, most of the shit you need to live/grow is more expensive.

For people saying that Democrats were on the verge of winning the shutdown, I'm going to note that last week when Schumer proposed a deal that would have given Democrats what they wanted in exchange for opening up the government, many of the same people were decrying it as a sellout.
