I like how every two years at a T20 World Cup everyone goes “wow the associate cricket teams are much better than we thought, we should do more to assist their development and grow the global game” and then nothing changes

On the new #WutheringHeights film.

I've co-curated an exhibition (Bronte Parsonage Museum) showing what the Bronte children read & wrote (they invented their own colonies) & how Wuthering Heights was inspired by their colonial reading material.

Sure, because people who don't go to university definitely don't get any benefit from teachers, nurses, doctors, artists, solicitors, engineers, scientists, etc etc.
What happened to social solidarity and mutual benefit?

I get tired of saying it, but I’ll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.

But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.

Also people who don’t go to university probably see doctors (trained at university) and were educated at school by nurses (trained at university) and perhaps travel across bridges designed by engineers (who went to university) and and and… 🤦🏻‍♀️
On this basis we would stop paying for free school meals for children and free bus passes for pensioners.

I don’t use it/don’t benefit is literally the direct opposite reason why we have taxation to fund pubic goods.

Education is a public good. Fund it!

It’s pretty fucking wild that the only reason why certain conservatives are just now turning against ICE tactics is because Pretti was a white male with a conceal carry who believed in the second ammendment. His humanity didn’t matter to them til the NRA got pissed.

For those who don't know, remigration is a European far-right concept of ethnic cleansing via the mass deportation of non-white minority populations.

I took this photo today in SASKATOON within hours of the ICE remigration Gestapo executing another person in the US.

He was doing what many have been saying white men should be doing. He went outside to observe, he documented, he put his body on the line to protect another person and for this he was murdered by the gatekeepers of the fascist regime.

they're executing moms and nurses in the street. they're using preschoolers as bait. they're stealing people's dads and grandmas and children. they're tear gassing babies. they're staking out schools. there is no remedy but abolition. any proposal that doesn't start there is an act of violence.

You are kidding yourself if you think OpenAI won't be charging for ChatGPT to generate CSAM for pay in a few months. They already charge money for a product that tells kids to self harm, they already have a product that generates "adult content", they already lobby against any AI regulation.

I understand a lot of people genuinely struggle with social relationships, but unfortunately that’s the price of living in a world where good thinking is often a collaborative endeavor. You are not thinking collaboratively with an LLM because the LLM is not thinking at all.

People not in the US routinely downplay the degree to which law enforcement in this country is willing to kill us.

In grad school I referenced this analysis that found that cops in the US kill more people than "criminals" do in other countries. And that's routine.
