It's a big day for those fluent in the good grammar of civility looking to deploy decorum to mask agendas of cruelty

I honestly don't understand how this isn't considered just straight up sexual assault of children.

A real news outlet publishing the phrase "Grok apologized" should result in like a week-long timeout. Think about what you've done.

The ICC part of this had me like 'wait, what's happening now?' so I just did a quick search and apparently this and more is happening now

The gun industry's purchase of the NRA followed by the NRA's purchase of Antonin Scalia was some of the most effectively spent money ever.

They want more crime and mass shootings. They like that stuff and want to make sure we can't pass laws to stop it from happening

The demonization of Somalis is no different than the demonization of Haitians before the election. It's a political attack and has to be actively fought—not through half-measures or expressions of tepid concern but by demanding decency from society and respect for all of humanity.

the fires every poster here was forged in are too hot for people whose entire job is to write things like "are we too nice to the homeless?"
No danger of much civility on here, so that's progress I suppose

I'm old enough to remember when Michael Dukakis couldn't be president because a program started by the Republican governor before him gave a convicted criminal the opportunity to commit more crimes. Because Al Gore hadn't partially redeemed himself yet and thought that lie was fine to spread...
Six pardoned insurrectionists were charged with committing child sex crimes.

At least five were charged with illegal possession of weapons.

Five were arrested or charged with driving while impaired or under the influence.

Two were charged with rape.
At least 33 pardoned insurrectionists face other criminal charges—but many are now going free - CREW | Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington
At least 33 January 6th insurrectionists pardoned by Trump have been rearrested, charged or sentenced for other crimes since January 6, 2021.

NYT returns to character assassination. Note the framing, which implies Mandani targeted Israel exec orders when in fact, it was all orders after Adam’s was hopelessly compromised by indictment and bending a knee to the Trump admin.

Some of the folks newly (finally) fleeing twitter apparently were worried about BSky being such an echo chamber.
Echo chamber?

Buddy, half the time I don't even agree with myself.

I don't recall off hand who made the point about AI being, more than anything else, a machine for displacing responsibility. That increasingly looks like its most reliable feature
This is a thread of major media outlets falsely anthropomorphising the "Grok" chatbot program and in doing so, actively and directly removing responsibility and accountability from individual people working at X who created a child pornography generator (Elon Musk, Nikita Bier etc)

[CSAM, which I guess I should be flagging a lot more than I have been]

Musk has been knowingly facilitating distribution of CSAM. But it's going to be completely consequence free for him because his wealth inoculates him from consequences.

Bitch, Asheville is a blue college town and the county has gone blue for decades. I am so sick of this “if I pretend disasters only happen to red areas, it means I’m safe because I’m properly on the left!” No. You’re not safe. That’s why we save everybody.

Well but we'd help you. Seriously, if this weren't ICE, half a dozen Minnesotans would appear with shovels, sand, plywood, muscle, and advice. You'd be on your way in a minute and also have learned how to rock a vehicle.

If you are going to inappropriately anthropomorphize something, can't you stick to the normal things? Like the Roomba.

you say "i asked chatgpt"
i hear "i asked [an improv comedy group]"

an improv group wrote this report
instead of a therapist i use an improv comedy group
chatgpt is much like an improv comedy group

1) you are the audience, giving it prompts
2) it produces things roughly shaped like your prompt
3) it is trained to respond with Yes, And
4) it has the factual accuracy of improv
5) it does not understand comedy
This is fascinating: www.reddit.com/r/OpenAI/s/I...

Someone “worked on a book with ChatGPT” for weeks and then sought help on Reddit when they couldn’t download the file. Redditors helped them realized ChatGPT had just been roleplaying/lying and there was no file/book…

no one stopped him from buying the US election, so he's doing the same with the UK, French and German elections too. Pretty logical progression. Europe's center-right and center-left are just as delusional and paralyzed in inaction as the Dems here were. They can't even log off the guy's website!
any country that tries to express an opposition to CSAM will be rewarded with musk attempting to incite a far-right terrorist coup
guys, "the judges at the ICC are being sanctioned by the USA and can't access their iphones or bank accounts" and "why aren't any countries banning twitter or prosecuting elon musk for owning a site that manufactures CSAM" stories are the same story
